Worked great after our first rain. The one detail that is stressed is that the diverter is at the same elevation as you storage tank inlet.

Rainwater Gutter Diverter

The design of this diverter is rather unique and works but there are some flaw designs that could use some rethinking. I had to use a reciprocating saw to cut the downspout to fit the diverter in, which was an easy cut. My spout size is 2 x 3 and I had to crimp the spouts, top and bottom, to fit into the adapters, which wasn't a problem. The top adapter fits in and doesn't leak because it is inside of the adapter but the bottom does. I had to use caulk to seal it inside to stop it from leaking and after a few attempts sealed it. I saw where some guy used black Gorilla tape to seal the spout but that install looks sloppy. Caulking inside you can't see it and the install looks neater. Also, the interior design allows for quite a bit of water to fall through and down the spout past the screen to the ground discharge, kind of defeating the purpose of saving all of the water. All in all it works and after a few mild rain storms I had collected 2/3's of my 55 gallon drum. I have built a pedestal to raise the drum off of the ground allowing easier access to the drain spout. On your final install the barrel should be pretty level too.  I have been using the water to water my tomatoes saving a considerable amount of water this summer. Yes, I would recommend this to others but a slight design change would make it the perfect water diverter! I tried to post a couple of pics of the finished setup but, for some reason, this site would only let me post one. Walmart keeps changing their prices, I purchased this online for $35.99 a few weeks ago and it is now $41.74!

It works...but

This works well but during a heavy rain, water will spray out the top due to the filter. Also, I wish this came in white because almost everyone has white gutters/downspouts. I had to spray paint mine white

All parts are well made. Installation went as directed.

Fiskars Diverter

cheap and flimsy.  So bad I didn't even install it.  I can't imagine anyone using it for a permanent set up.
