I am a huge X-acto knife fan, but so far I like this Fiskars knife much better, mostly bcuz it includes a nice cushion for my fingers when using.

I figured out the blade problem.  There are 2 sets of slots forming a plus sign (+).  One set of slots is significantly wider than the other set.  If you place the blade into the wider slot, it will not hold.  Place the blade into the narrow slot and it will hold perfectly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's an effective tool to own and for a variation of duties and/or hobbies;as the handle is soft and easy to grip without the added danger of slippage whilst utilizing. Yet,I was perplexed when I realized the knife doesn't allow the blades to become sturdy and locked in in order to prevent the blades to come loose as I was using the knife to assist my daughter in her school project. I thank the Lord we didn't cut ourselves in our attempt to change the blade that was very sharp as was needed.

I agree with the other reviews. Replacing the blade is almost impossible. I wish it worked better. Of course Fiskars is gaslighting people into thinking the blade replacement is easy and they the only one with a problem. Maybe go back to the drawing board and redesign the blade replacement process.

Wish it worked, good grip

So bought this and from the beinging nothing but issues. Blade never stayed tigh or straight. Most reviews seem to be free product given and all give great reviews. lol ya right. Shouldn't need to go to engineering school to change the fricken blade.  Not sure why companies now a days think they have to "modern" up this stuff. Just keep it simple. Good quality and easy to use and replace parts. Fiskars didn't do it with this one. I wouldn't buy it again. I would give it to to my worst enemy just to drive them insane when they had to change the blade in it. And watch as they take him to the funny farm.
PS was a pain to find a video to change it. WHY HASN'T FISKARS PUT ONE OUT ?!?!!

Need engineering degree to change the blade.

Does not work

Manufacturing appears to have omitted a means to retain the blade in the holder. These blades depend on mechanical stops and friction to secure them in place. The tooled two-piece blade holder with spring and collar retainer has a cupped indentation on both sides that appear to be designed to hold a part that the spring can press into the blade hole to keep the blade from moving. However, there is no ball bearing or similar part in the indented space, so there is nothing to keep the blade secure after installation. Friction alone doesn't work.

This is utterly absurd.

I fancy myslef a reasonably intelligent and resaonably handy dude, and I cannot get this dang blade to hold secure. Zero chance I change my rating...I'm not the first with this complaint. 

Update before submission....I was not allowed to use the word we would all assume when seeing "dang"...it got flagged for "profanity"

If Fiskars wants profanity, please give me a call as I try to perform the child's task of changing a blade.

I can assure you....not intuitive. Why instructions were included (for somethign that should be an example of "self explanatory") is absolutely beyond me. Should I throw the stupid thing away and get another? Repeated this each time I need to change the blade?
