I bought the filter assembly 3 years ago and have not had any issues with it. I get the filter that removes the lead. I have used the other filters that don't take out the lead but that was by mistake because I was looking at cost of the filters. I now buy the filter that removes the lead. I installed it in the bar sink. I use that sink for my coffie and drinking water. I am going to buy another one for my refrigerator because it is cheaper than the GE refrigerator filter and lasts longer. Love this water filter.

I had a expensive reverse osmosis system for years, but replacing the filers was not only expensive.. it was time consuming. So, when we had our new stainless steel sink installed a year and a half ago..  I just had the plumber spend a extra 15 minutes hooking up this filter system.  I'd have done it myself, but at 350 pounds, getting under the sink is too tight a fit for me.

I couldn't be happier with the results. The tap water tastes as good as it did with the more expensive reverse osmosis system
.. and the filtration is not that much different. Maybe only 0.2 microns difference. Not enough to justify spending more on the reverse osmosis filters or buying 1 gallon jugs of distilled drinking water. 

This unit filters out the minerals / lime that builds up in coffee pots. I have a 2 pot commercial Bunn coffee maker.. and this filter keeps it from having any mineral / lime build up inside. Coffee & tea tastes great. The water pressure is a little less..  about 1.5 gallons per minute.  But not enough of a reduction to be a bother to me.

I would buy this filter again, and would & do recommend it to friends.

No more bad taste

Seems stable enough to work without mounting...however after connected when you turn on the cold valve all the way the hose from valve to filter is cheaply secured to the valve.

Unlike everyone else here I did not receive this for free or on some promotion. I bought it myself and installed it. We moved into an apartment and the water had a horrible chlorine taste to it so we decided to get one of these after buying a ridiculous amount of bottled water. The water taste great when filtered by this unit. The water pressure is reduced to about half what it was without the filter so keep that in mind. We had to disconnect the filter unit and remove it because it started leaking at the connection to the main water line. That could have been really bad if it had come off entirely, we live on the top floor of an apartment building and would have likely flooded the building. Hopefully I can get a better quality hose from the hardware store to replace the one provided in this kit.

Leaked

I'm not sure how good the actual filtration is, as I haven't had the water tested. But there is definitely still a taste to the water and, after only a few weeks of use, the water tastes like it isn't filtered at all.

Wouldn't Recommend

I can't use  the under sink filtration system because the fittings are not compatible with the existing standard fittings for the kitchen sink. I want to return it and get a refund.
