It's a turkey, add some butter under the skin when cooking and it tastes like one of those expensive birds.

Perfect for a small family

This turned out to be an 11 pound turkey, which is great as it's just my husband and I eating it and some friends wanting leftovers, it was nice and plump and the top skin was a little askew but no biggie. Walmart literally brought me 99% of my meal for a great price and the turkey was great! I did brine it but I like doing this to all turkeys, even when I score a cheap butterball. The best price I found and delivered as promised exactly on time. I will certainly nab my next turkey from there. BTW, it was great that it included how long to cook it, my husband wanted to do another hour but I insisted and it as tender and juicy as anything.

It was such a great deal!

We avoid getting turkey for special occasions as we end up with too much left-over even when we have relatives over. The gorceries offer large turkeys that took too long to cook and more often than not, the meat gets too dry.  This year, we decided to get small turkey when we saw Walmart offers different sized turkey.  We we're quite happy with it as we managed to get our 7 year old to eat it without trying to convince her it was just a big chicken (like we did in previous years). She said it was "tasty turkey!".  My husband didnt even have to do anything special with it.  We used grocery pick-up and the tag got lost - we had to use our bathroom scale (my daughter held the turkey) to determine the weight. It was 11 lbs, and we paid $10 for it.  Not bad, right?  We still have left overs but the meat was still tender after reheating.  Overall, we were happy with the taste, the size, and the price.

Just the right size for a small family.

For the price this was a very good bird. I wouldn't say it rivaled the very best free range air chilled turkeys by any means, or even a Butterball, but it was also much cheaper, and since I brined it and seasoned it before roasting, it turned out moist and flavorful.

The turkey appears to be melted and refrozen. There's a big clot of ice inside.

Missing wing and drum, huge chunk taken out of breast, missing skin.

This is marketed as a Grade A but is clearly a utility bird

So we ordered this 'turkey' weeks ahead and only opened it on Christmas Eve, to find it was sans a leg and looked like it bad been in a bad fight...and lost. very little meat and a powdery texture (weird I know). Avoid at all costs, lest you ruin your Christmas.
