Been changing oil in vehicles and yard equipment  for over 55 years and this works just fine.  I put a piece of cardboard down(like the box this came in) on the garage floor and duct tape  just the corners for easy removal.  This also allows the drain pan to slide  out effortlessly and the cardboard catches any and always that last drip of oil after I remove the drain pan. Not a $500 dollar metal caster riding vacuum pump shop pan but it does the job!

my husband loves his oil catcher container. He had a plastic oil pan, every time he had to change oil he had this big bulky thing to try and pour into the oil bottle. spills would happen. So when I found this, it was a no brainers. Best Oil Pan around. you open a small valve on the draining side, place under the vehicle,  catch the oil in the recessed area, leave it so that it all drains into the canister. we use a paper towel to move the little bit of oil that stays on surface. we push it to the valve. close wipe it, and stand up the container. it can then be transferred easily to the original oil container for disposable.  Best Ever!!!! I recommend for anyone

Best Oil Change Must Have. So Easy to Use

I had previously bought the cheaper one from Walmart and ended up flooding the entire garage multiple times.
Lesson learned, NEVER buy cheap products!

This one solved all of my problems:
  Great volume size and capacity. I end up changing oil for BOTH of my cars one shot. It could fit used oil from both!
  Awesome spout design. Once you're done, drain used oil into oil container without making a big mess. Not a single drop goes out. The previous cheap one I got previously from Walmart was very wiggly that you'd end up flooding everything.
  No leaks. Comes with rubber around spout.

On the cons:
- The drain reservoir isn't very deep, so you'll get a few drops of splash. 
- The ventilation hole lid isn't snug. Hard to keep it shut. So if you change oil and put this back into your car, your car may smell like oil.
- As few mentioned earlier, the drain holes aren't big enough to drain fast. So I ended up widening the drain hole and it worked like a charm.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this.

Buy this, DON'T do my mistake by buying cheaper

I have 2 of these. One in Florida and one in Michigan.
Takes the place of a nasty one That has a big screw on top. Primarily use to drain Oil mostly from Diesel vehicles which is black and nasty.
Advantage is the oil is contained in the drainer.

Works good with Nasty Diesel Oil Changes

This oil drain container is a very good product.  It is large enough in area to catch errant drips from the oil filter change or fast flow from the oil pan drain.  Easy cleanup for the trip to the recycle center.

Very large catch area and deep enough trough to avoid spillage and splatter .

Best catch for the money .

This is a great item! If you've ever used the smaller drain pans, get yourself one of these. This is the biggest one I have used. With the smaller ones I would always miss the pan when I removed the oil pan plug, and as the draining oil slowed I would have to slide the pan to keep the oil from missing it. This pan is big enough that I can remove the plug and go do something else without worrying about having to move it around. No more oil on my driveway!

Big enough

Bought this container for my 97 f250 7.3 diesel. It takes 15qt of oil to do a change. I drained the oil pan and filter into the container and it filled it to the "fill hole" almost overflowing out of that hole so it was full to the brim. The catch area doesn't have quite enough angle to drain the slow moving oil into the container without a little assistance brushing oil into the hole. But it does a great job for $10, it's sitting in the garage with 14+ qt in it right now.

16qt oil container

Not a very good product.  It's designed to hold 15 qts.  The issue is with the inlet going into the reservoir does not handle the fast flow of oil coming from the oil pan.  It overflowed and made a mess.  Took hours to clean up and now I have a big oil stain on my drive way.

The drain container needs to evolve.

Shipped without a box, shipping sticker just stuck to the side of the plastic container. It arrived without the red caps that would/should hold the oil inside. Useless without the caps, had to return it. Not sure why they would ship it without a box and expect the twist off caps to stay with it.

It does hold three gallons, however the fill holes (there are two of them under the red cap on the side in the bottom of the pan) are undersized and even water will easily overflow the container if you pour it to fast. The fill holes need to be enlarged (something you can easily do but why should you have to?). I think if I had put this under my truck without testing, I would of had a big oily mess.
