[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked this product a lit. It's easy yo install and it saved us about $1600  doing it myself instead of the company Leaf Filter doing it.  They gave us a quote of a little over $2000 to do the same thing I did for $143 !!

The product was received on time and I have installed on my gutters.  The product works well and I hope it will last a long time.  No more ladder for me.

In Northeast Ohio, winter brings snow and freezing temps.  That combination causes  the snow in the gutters.  On freezing days the roof may warm up enough to melt the snow.  However that snow melt leads to water in the gutters and that will freeze into solid ice.  Frozen gutters then leads to icicles and dripping water and that freezes onto the surface of the porch and stairs.  I had 2 falls related to this problem in 3 years.  I had an elderly dog that needed help up the stairs to the porch.

  Even on days with temps in the upper or 30's or 40's,  that ice in the gutters takes long to thaw maybe a day or two.  The gutters can remain blocked if it rains and freeze again when the temps drop.   As a result our gutters do not drain properly.  we get large icicles near the downspouts even on the south side of the house that gets bright sunlight.  

As a trial, I purchased a "small "set ( 22 feet ) of gutter covers that I laid on the 6"gutters that were especially problematic with frozen overflowing gutters that form very large icicles.  The trial gutter- covered section was only 13 feet long and bordered  the roof on one side ( south facing) of a sunroom addition.   Adjoining areas of the roof, that are on the rear of the main house also drain to these gutters and downspouts.  We had 5" inch gutters initially and they could not handle the water volume when it rained, hence we upgraded to 6" gutters and larger downspouts.  The home is a large ranch so the roof surface area, is large.

  I put the gutter covers on this fall.  On the side of the addition, without covers and on the north side of the house,  our gutters are frozen solid and icicles have formed where the gutter is overflowing.  Theses icicles then drip onto the small porch and makes it treacherous when it again freezes


On the south and sunny side of the addition with the Flexxpoint gutter covers,  no icicles, this winter on the gutters that are covered.  ( YEAH ! !)

I think they work well.  I think it works in that it does not allow the large amounts of snow into the channel of the gutter.  The gutter,  not filled with snowfall turned into ice blocks, can take the snow melt water or rain that drain down the roof.    Will the gutter eventually become blocked by ice layers?   It may, but as of now, In February, it has not.       

This summer, I will add gutter covers to the shady side of the addition.  I hope they will help the ice problem on the porch.  I am hopeful that since the snow is kept out of the gutter channel, it will help some of the snow melt from dripping and freezing onto the porch.

  I may cover sections that are harder to clean or need more frequent cleaning due to their proximity to nearby trees.  If I did, I would use this product.  In some of these sections I tried the "brush-like pieces that fit into the gutter, but they do not work well.  They trap debris, pollen, twirly bird maple seeds.  To clean the gutters, you need to remove the brushes.

these went on easy they work fine but with winter snow and ice who knows but won't blame the gutter guards I like them
