Zappity zap zap, these are the absolute best i have ever used and last for a very long time, i purchased this one to replace one that is over 25 years old and it still works just needs some glue and tlc after it fell from years of blowing in the wind and rubbing through its hanger loop. Excellent product.

If you've ever tried to enjoy a quiet evening on your porch only to feel like the main course at a mosquito banquet, you know the struggle. I finally decided to fight back and picked up this bug zapper, and honestly? It's the best "outdoor security" I've ever hired.

That's a classic “works great… but why this cord?” situation. A zapper lantern with only about six inches of lead is basically forcing you to solve a problem the manufacturer should've handled.
Here's how people usually work around it without compromising safety or performance:
Why the short cord matters
• 	It limits where you can hang or place the lantern outdoors.
• 	It often forces you to use an extension cord immediately, which looks messy and can be a tripping hazard.
• 	Short cords tend to put strain on the plug connection if the lantern is hanging.
Practical fixes that actually help
• 	Use a weather‑rated outdoor extension cord (ideally a short one, 3–6 ft) so you're not running a long cable across the yard.
• 	Add a drip‑loop if it's hanging, so water doesn't run down the cord into the connection.
• 	Mount it closer to a power source if possible, since zapper lanterns work best when placed a bit away from where people sit anyway.

That's a classic “works great… but

Bought this from HD for decades. Replacement lights and smell packets were readily available and our back yard was insect free (half acre lot). They last for years but eventually the transformer (i think) goes out. Went back to HD recently and they no longer carried this brand so I bought the one they had. It quit working within a few months and didn't remove the bugs as well so I went online and returned home, to Flowtron.

Quality product!  It works great and I love the size for the coverage it produced.  5 stars in my opinion and experience.  Can't say enough about how much difference it had on controlling insects around my home.  Definitely a great purchase for myself and anyone that needs 1.  Can't go wrong purchasing this 1.  Be doing yourself a favor indeed.

Great ridding mosquitoes and other bugs!!! I originally thought I needed 2 , but 1 covers the area I need to be BUG FREE!!
The electric cord is about 6-8 in long. You are going to need a 3 prong electrical extension. I bought a 10 Ft and it's perfect!!
This lamp really does the trick!!

No Bugs!

flowtron bug zappers are great for killing flying bugs on my property. I've used them in the past, last one i used for about 5 years before a greedy person took it. tried another popular brand and it did not work well, zapper quit. flowtron will last.

I tried all the natural ways to keep skeeters at bay but when that didn't work I gave in and got this. It does the job and I can now enjoy being outdoors on my patio. Only thing I don't like and its not the fault of the product,  other bugs, good bugs are drawn to the light which I have to try and save.

The cord is VERY short, but we put it on a power bar with an on/off switch. Worked out perfect and we don't have to unplug it. Bug zapper works great, we use it in the kitchen. Plus the delivery was faster than amazon and delivered by a very nice young lady.

The good and bad

It fries bugs which is a good thing ,, no sprays used to kill those pests , just make sure you clean it cause it will need to be cleaned , l use blower on low blows those dead bugs off .

Bye bugs

Bought this product for Mosquito control.  But it only works for moths, flies, wasps and seems like everything else EXCEPT MOSQUITOS.  Also verified that mosquitoes are  Not attracted to lights. Do not waste your time or money on this product.
