This thing is not only beautiful to look at the sounds it plays are absolutely perfect.  even my vintage vinyl plays flawlessley.  i chose the white glossy finish and to my surprise it came with a clear and very heavy acrylic platter requiring no rubber or cork mat.  the see through tinted and hinged dust cover works fine and the cartrige is preinstalled on the head.  Unboxing is self explanatory and i was spinning vinyl in under 15 minutes.   a bubble round level is included as is a 45 record adaptor.  The only disappointment is the 3 legged base.  i feel for a table of this quality and price they should have designed this player with 4vlegs for added stability.  without this added stability you will cause skipping on your albums on old style wood floor homes.  the engineer must have a concrete slab home.

I love this tt.  The Ortofon Blue is detailed and clear.  Auto stop feature is helpful.  Setup is relatively easy.  Tracking weight can be difficult.   Strongly recommend scale (cheap).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Fluance RT85 is not a $500.00  turntable. It is at best a $200.00 turntable with $300.00 in upgrades that have little to no impact on its sound quality. This is displayed in their product line. They should ditch the acrylic plater and Ortofon blue upgrade for a better tonearm. The tonearm is the weak point and unable to take advantage of the cartridge and platter.  Unfortunately, there is no tonearm upgrade available. The speed and WOW are not within the range that is advertised. This turntable is not an upgrade from my Planar2. I will be returning the turntable.

Fluance RT85

I received the Turntable on time and seemingly in good shape. However, upon closely examining, I found that a couple of critical accessories were not to be found.  The case has been opened with the vendor and they have agreed to ship the parts. Putting my fingers cross. Seems that the customer support is taking care of the issue. Will update my review once everything is sorted out and I get a chance to plug in the beautiful piece of equipment and hear what it has to offer.
