I bought this unit because I am experimenting in Sous-vide cooking, a French style - very healthy (Google it!).  In essence, the food is cooked to a fixed temperature in a sealed bag in a bath of strictly temperature controlled water. Sous-vide cooking produces the perfect steak, chicken, fish or vegetables (see photos).  All the high-end restaurants use this method of cooking.   I needed a sealer that I could (a) custom make the bag sizes to fit the food being cooked, eg. steaks, chicken, fish (b)allowed me full control of the vacuuming process, sans automatic (c) full manual operation.  This unit does all three - it allows me to make nay sized bag and has a seal only button or vac 'n seal button, and it is a three step manual controlled with a locking ever on the side.  Oh yeah, it also does a great job in sealing/resealing cold meats, leftover food, etc.  Did I mention it's small and is easy to pull out if a cupboard - no need for counter space.

I've used it a couple times. Once you get used to how long to cut the bags it works great. It will save many $$$ in freezer burnt meat that often finds the garbage. Not doing that any more. 
Buy bigger discounted packages then partition into meal size potions. Enjoy!

Protect ur meat

Bought it for a good friend who is 78years old. She found its easy to operate and keeps her fish fresher than regular freezer bag after a month stored in freezer. Small enough to store on countertop and if she has to move it its very light so not hard to move it( i have different model of food saver, its quite bulky) overall, made my friend and me happy

Great gift

I needed to replace the old one that was no longer working so well. after reading reviews this is the one I settled on, so glad I purchased this one. I am very happy with the sealer.

I have wanted one for a long time and figured why not now?!  I love it!  I use the food storage containers all the time!  They are great for left overs, vegetables, and soup!

I love my food saver!!

Great buy value for money, for the usefulness I make of it, easy device station single negative point. Canadian pulls the put off the week after delivery but without pump. Fast delivery.

Super buy

It took me a little while to get use to it. But now I cant stop using it. I love the handheld fresh sealer so easy to use. The food saver is a nice addition to my day to day kitchen tasks and to save money.

I purchased this about a month ago and am very happy except I find the suction is not as strong as my old one.

I've had several FM2010 machines because I like the smaller counter footprint, and it does vacuum seal bags well BUT THE ACCESSORY HOSE IS TERRIBLE !  The little tabs on the 'machine-end' of those break regularly, Foodsaver does even make replacement parts for these hoses available other than through 3rd party providers (i.e. they don't even support their own products or flawed design !). Not all accessory Foodsaver accessory hoses are compatible their vacuum sealers either, which a little re-design could easily solve.  I'v given up on Foodsaver... poor design, poor customer service/support.  Moving on, looking for other manufacturers - they're not the only show in town like they used to be.
