Seal performance can be unreliable, leading to leakage or incomplete sealing.

Can be effortless, but also finicky to use.

This is my third machine as I've been upgrading every few years. I love that I can seal without vacuuming or stop the vac and seal at any point. My previous machine didn't do that well. I also love the "moist" setting so it is slower and doesn't vac all the juices or completely smash delicate foods.

This machine replaced a 10-year old one and it performs just as well and is more compact which is great for where it will live.  It also has some more capabilities than my previous one which I find nice.  I would have preferred that it be white not the black that all these are now.

Nice Replacement!

Love it! I seal cheese, lunch meat and other snacks I like to graze on in the zip bags and it keeps the contents fresh while making me think twice before I graze and fall off my meal plan. Absolutely LOVE how it keeps cut avocado fresh! Keeps my meats fresh in the freezer until using. Discover new ways to seal items everyday.  I use it daily.

Great product

After some research, I bought this FoodSaver to replace a simpler model that I had for many years.  There was a learning curve but now I find it so much easier to use than my old one. I can make bags, fill them and seal them in a snap. I highly recommend this model.

It's really waterproof as a closure and the bags are resistant. However if the contents are not large the bag is not either And it is difficult to hold the bag in the right place And weigh at the same time on the bar. The part to seal is high in the model I bought.

Great but a little fault

Easy and great machine to use. It safes a lot off money

Easy

I took advantage of Black Friday to acquire this model. It is very good for bags. However, it is more difficult with plastic containers. There seems to be a defect with the lids when you want to vacuum.

Good equipment

It is a sleek design and quite simple to use. Does a great job.  However, trying to vacuum pack the single bags is quite a chore. You have to be tripled jointed to try and hold the bag in the machine and place one finger of each hand on each side of the sealing bar. I guess it just takes practice.
The one Con that is very frustrating is trying to seal the FoodSaver containers. They are very difficult to seal initially. I have to rotate the top at least six times (sometimes more) to find out if the sealer is going to trap the lid shut. If the motor ever burns out, I will know of the cause. I have looked for FoodSaver's Sealing Containers Course 101 but couldn't find anything that would help. So, I'm still struggling with that. I did a considerable amount of research on vacuum sealers and it all pointed to my model as being one of the market leaders (in my opinion) and convinced me that this is what I wanted. Another con, is the cost of your vacuum bags. It's similar to buying a cheap printer. Oh, you need more toner? The equivalent cost for that is four times the cost of that cheap printer you bought. Yeah, sorry, that's just the way 
it is today. As for recommending this product to my friends, I'm sitting on the fence.

Pros and Cons

I have long been an avid user of Food Saver products. However, this unit does not give a good seal when packaging food. I am getting small areas that do not seal. After resealing 2 or 3 times the seal completes. This is the first time this has been an issue. Otherwise, I am happy with this unit.

Poor sealing

This is my third Foodsaver. This machine is so nice for making bags but the vacuum is 4-inches high and when the food is in the bag you insert it in the vacuum and you are to press a bar under it to start the vacuum and seal. I find it impossible to hold the full bag straight in the vacuum and press the bar at the same time. I have to use a 4-inch box to set my bags on. This is poor planning especially for the price.  Also the sealer for the refrigerator zip locks has a hose that retracts but feels cheap. Makes me wonder how long it will take for it to stop retracting.

Could have been excellent
