I've been a FoodSaver fan for years, but the FM2000 takes it to the next level, way better than our old model. It's noticeably quieter during operation, and a bit more forgiving if things get a little messy mid-seal. The powerful suction is strong and consistent, locking in freshness like a champ for everything from beef to veggies. One must-have tip: Grab the food bag stands and funnels right away (or FoodSaver, please include them!). They keep moisture and debris off the sealing area, ensuring every bag gets a tight seal perfectly on the first try. Without them, you might hit a snag and waste time wiping off the sealing area—lesson learned the hard way. Overall, this is a game-changer for meal prepping and bulk buying. It's reliable, user-friendly, and makes storing food effortless. If you're upgrading or starting fresh, don't hesitate, this one's a keeper!

Quieter, Smarter FoodSaver Upgrade

I like the size of this sealer. The only thing I do not like about it, you have to cut your own bags with a pair of scissors. It doesn't hold or dispense the film for making bags. I do like that smaller size, but it is a little time consuming to have to make the bags in this manner. I have actually kept my older sealer just to use the ability to measure and cut the bags with it.

New Sealer

This is the 3rd FoodSaver I have owned. The first lasted over 5 years before the heating element died. The 2nd unit, I used for about 6 years, then gave it to my daughter. Tried another brand a couple daysago(about 1/2 the price), and it was junk! Returned! Can't beat FoodSaver for price and ease of use!

I bought this product to vacuum seal crab cakes I made.  As the crabmeat is very expensive I wanted to be sure the cakes were properly stored in the freezer. The instructions were good that came with it but I also viewed some online videos to be sure I was doing things properly. I think this is a good  product with many uses in the kitchen.

My old FoodSaver died on me after thousands of bags sealed. I replaced it with this new model and I'm sealing bags again! I just sealed 10 pounds of cold cuts for the freezer. It's powerful suction seals the bags faster than the old one. FoodSaver is AWESOME!! TWO THUMBS UP and 10 STARS!!

This is like the fourth or fifth one of these machines that I had to buy. I guess I need to slow down when using the machine. Because each time before the heating element stopped working
And had to throw them away. Yes, I need to let it cool down a little bit in between each seiling of the bags.

Fruit, saver machine

I've owned this same machine in an older model but wanted to get a newer version.  It will NOT seal correctly.  It doesn't seem to have much suction and I have liquids all over the place, it leaves part of the seal unsealed so when I pick it up everything comes out.  I tried it with something with no liquid and it still didn't seal correctly. I'm likely going to return this. Very disappointed.

If you are going to be sealing more that a few bags at a time, this may not be the sealer for you.  It heats up fast, but has trouble getting the bags completely sealed.  We have went through a couple of these cheaper sealers, each promising to be better than the other brands only to let us down.  We package meat that is often wet, and this sealer will have difficult time getting the liquid out.  If the liquid is not out then the bag will not seal.

not what I was hoping for

While the unit is sleek and smaller, it does not fully vacuum out the air. We tried all of the troubleshooting ideas and nothing works. Honestly for the price its a big disappointment.
