I had my Older Model for almost 10 years, and it was fantastic, the motor started getting a touch tired, so I decided to upgrade.  So glad I did! This one is quieter, and as long as you wait about 10 seconds at most, you can continuously seal and vacuum. My record so far is 12 bags.

So far, so good!

I am getting the hang of using the device, after wanting one for years. Basic items, like left over Christmas ham, are easy and work as expected. Just tried pre-freezing a quiche (hash brown crust - thanks Steve Docy!) and it appears to have worked great with minimal deformation. Will thaw in a week or so, but I expect good results.

Yesterday I used the pulse mode on bread: Very happy. It looks evacuated and I did not crush the bread. Someday I will try Souse Vide...

Putting a block of cheese in an extra long bag has worked well. You can re-open and reseal, keeping the cheese fresh for longer in the refrigerator. I may look into buying Ziplock, vacuum seal bags now that I see the value.

Replacement purchase  and I really like it. I have used the Food Saver devices for many many years. I have always stuck with the basics, as I did not feel I needed the advanced features. Over the years, units have worn out, and I was able to replace gaskets and tubes, but this last time, the gaskets are no longer available.  I decided it was time for a new unit, and went with the unit with the built in hand held attachment. I like that it has been designed to hold bag rolls in the bottom and can seal new bags quickly and the slicer works from either direction. I like the elevated design and more visible labels on the buttons.  Not super fancy, but definitely a step up from the older flat design.

I love the Food Saver I had one before this one from many years ago works great passed on to my niece. I have never had a issue. I had done a chicken breast test 5 yrs after i sealed looked just like the day i put it in fresh. I am proud to be one of their customers.

Love Food Saver

Best So Far!! This is my 3rd Food Saver over the 20 years I have been using them. I love this one. Everything is much easier especially the separate vacuum sealer. I keep my food saver on my counter because I use the little vacuum sealer every day. Either for my containers or to keep my foods in the vacuum seal bags.  I wouldn't be without it.  I plan on taking it abroad with me too when we move.

BEST EVER KITCHEN TOOL!!!

This is my second Foodsaver.  I LOVE this one.  My first unit was a V3840 with auto start by inserting the bag and was a little difficult, but after over 6 years of use it was no longer sealing tightly, so time for a new one!  The sealing feature on this new unit is much easier and I really like that, once a bag is cut, you can seal the end in preparation for the next bag.

Love the Foodsaver

This is the real-deal sealer for most any need. The start a bag as soon as you cut a bag feature is exceptional. It has always been a sore spot with me to do my projects one bag at a time. This feature makes it convenient to make two or ten bags in advance, one end open - one sealed. Then easily filled and sealed. Now I make and fill all the bags, then run them through sealing. the only thing it is lacking is a time and date stamper!

We certainly enjoy using this machine but wish it pumped faster. We do bulk food prep so time is important.

This product is not a easy to use as the last one I had.  We thought the manual option would be better and less parts to break.  The problem is it is hard to figure out where to put the bags and how to use it product.  Not real happy.

Dislike

It is not convenient to use and has never done a good vacuum. It's supposed to automatically seal after it vacuums but that function flashes and doesn't seal.  Not worth anything.
