I wish the website would've gotten into more detail if this would work, with specific models. I have a model V4840 FoodSaver. I could not find anywhere that this would retrofit to my specific FoodSaver. But I decided to buy it anyway, because the little nipple that fits into specific accessories had broken off. I managed a work around, basically just jumped into the old black hose. And the new clear hose just hangs out. It does not retract all the way. But at least the handheld sealer now works.

My favorite kitchen tool

This was a replacement for one that came with my unit. It is a great addition to use with the resealable bags, dry sealer for Mason jars and other things. Very easy to use.

Foodsaver handheld sealer

Works well the thumb groove on the top makes it so much easier the press down to keep seal.  
 The issue I have was the ad for the sealer I purchased please inferred this was part of the package put it wasn't.

Wished it came with the sealer like the ad showed

Bought these as Christmas presents because I have one and use it every day. All families should have one for sealing almost everything that comes in a sealed bag. Once you open the bag take out the amount you need and seal back up, still fresh days and weeks later. I use it for spaghetti sauce, etc, they lay flat in the freezer and take up less room. The uses are endless.

every home should have one

I initially bought a new more high tech food saver. It took up more room on my counter and did not let me flip the lid up to control where exactly I wanted the seal. I then purchased this because it was on sale and smaller. I absolutely love it. It takes very little room and is VERY simple to use. It comes with an accessory port as well which is handy. The only thing this is missing is a bag cutter (which isn't the biggest deal- just grab some scissors.)

Great buy

This is a replacement part. The plastic tip that inserts to the machine had broken.  The new handheld part only works marginally.  It clips into machine but has to be pushed down and moved back and forth to create the vacuum for the seal.  This is definitely a design problem.

Weak Link to System

I do not recommend this accessory.  Flawed design.  Like the hose that came with my new food saver, it cracks at the green accessory plug.  This causes loss of suction.  Looking into other alternatives.  This renders the use of the new mason jar sealer and new canister accessories useless.

Flawed Design

My sealer requires a handheld attachment for the ziplock bags, this was the only one available for purchase. I does not work. It won't attach to my sealer. Model #FM2000

Misleading

This will be the third handheld sealer I've had to use on my machine. The other two eventually lost their ability to seal and broke & had to be replaced. The plastic insert is weak, does not seal well, and will need replacing. A rubberized insert would be far more durable.
