I really love this series; too bad they didn't extend it.  Wonderful cast and good characters. The pictures were really nice. I now have a copy to rewatch all time. Recommend this series.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Forever is a TV series about a medical examiner who cannot die.  When does he meets with an untimely death, he always reappears in the Hudson River. 
In each episode  there are flashbacks regarding his past life and condition while he works with a New York police detective helping to solve cases and also a subplot that I will not spoil.
The series grabs your attention from the first episode with great writing and the lead character whose attention to details is reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes.  This is a great series and I wish it had continued.

Fantastic hidden gem of a show

Exceptional series. Ioann Gruffodd (pronounced Yo-ann Griffith) is simply brilliant in this role, as if it was created for him. The part he plays, Henry Morgan, was born in 1779 and is killed in 1814. Except - he doesn't die. Presently he works as a Medical Examiner in New York City, helping to solve crimes with the brilliance of Sherlock Holmes while he searches for a way to end his "curse" of immortality. It is this character that makes "Forever" fascinating. Morgan is intense, a compassionate man with flair, genius, and charming stubbornness. The supporting cast is superb, the production quality extraordinary, and the stories intriguing and thought-provoking. I binged the whole series - and then watched it again. I enjoyed the acting - Alana de la Garza as the tough, smart, but caring detective is a perfect companion for Henry,  and Joel David Moore as Henry's quirky assistant Lucas has his own story to explore, just to name a few. The stories are thoughtful and satisfying.  And enough threads are tied up at the end of the season to make watching it more like viewing a movie than a TV series.. Why "Forever" was not renewed I will never understand, but I'm grateful we can watch it on this DVD set.

More than binge worthy

Forever

Another excellent show that was not renewed for Season 2 - and no idea why. The cast gelled well together, and there was more to be uncovered, so I am hopeful that Netflix or Hulu will run with this one as well. Loved the cast, and they had some fabulous guest stars (Cuba Gooding Jr, et al), and the nod to David Krumholtz playing the young Judd Hirsch character (Numb3rs) was really well done. Burn Gorman as Adam was simply brilliant, effecting the super-creepy calm that really insane villains have with alarming conviction. Lorraine Toussant as the police captain was so fun, I just loved her way of working that character - I want a boss like that! Alana de la Garza is always a favorite, and she played the ups and downs of her character so well that she takes you with her on the journey. And Ioan Gruffud always shines, and he, too, took you with him on his journey of character discovery. Again, what more can I say, other than I really loved it.

Loved this series - wish it had a Season 2
