I was a little nervous when I read the directions that they wanted you to skin the tomatoes. But that is not necessary the press separates the skin and seeds from the sauce. For the price this is a very nice press. There is some leaking on the handle, but I am going to work on that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The build quality on this is impressive and while we are waiting for the summer tomato crop to really put it through its paces we did get to use it quite a bit this winter making apple sauce. Its been super fun to use as a family and our daughter really enjoys being part of the sauce making process.

Convenient to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great tool to have in your kitchen if you grow tomatoes in the summer. It is easy to assemble and use and you can make so many things with the sauce you make, like homemade salsa and marinara. I suggest using Roma tomatoes, as it is meatier and makes a thicker sauce. Can't wait to try this on home-grown tomatoes!

Easy to use

Four stars for getting the job done quickly with reasonable effort, but it does have drawbacks. The press is all plastic except the sieve, so it is a bit flimsy. There are many pieces, with no instructions included, to assemble, clean and reassemble each time you do a batch. The handle/crank is especially annoying since it spews/drips at least 3 tablespoons of juice with every hopper full. All said, we are satisfied with our purchase and just hope it lasts longer than one tomato season.

Gets the job done

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tomato press indeed does press tomatoes making them into the perfect texture for pasta sauce. It is very easy to put together using the directions provided. Also easy to use with the instruction on pressing tomatoes. It is sturdy and operates as I expected with the exception of the suction to the counter top. While it does adhere when the handle is turned unfortunately as it is in use that suction breaks quite often. I ended up with my forearm over the press while turning the handle to press the tomatoes. It was much easier to use that way. The tomatoes ended up as I expected them to and made a delicious sauce. I am going to use it for apples and try my hand with some other softer vegetables. I would recommend it.

It came with 4 extra parts.  I can't figure out how to put it together.  I want to return it and get a refund.
