I ordered the 18" hoop to work on a large quilt. I love not having to move the hoop until I finish quilting an entire block. The hoop holds well and keeps the work surface nice and tight. I have experienced no slippage. The wingnut makes it easy to tighten.

Quilting hoop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The thing is really flimsy. The bottom isn't sturdy enough to hold up the hoop.

Wanted this to work so badly but it just would not remain in upright position, even with no quilt attached. I would put it in desired position and it would just slowly slide down. Tightened it as much as possible but did not matter. Also, it really is expensive considering the little amount of wood involved.

Did not work for me.

The stand is very unstable.   Top heavy when you get the quilt loaded.  It doesn't angle that well.   I was quilting a baby quilt.  Can't imagine quilting anything larger on it.  Too much trouble to use.  Sent it back.
