Wen I was young we had a carpet sweeper with full rollers on both sides. This would work wonderfully. 
With brushes only on the 4 ends it doesn't pickup as much. I will keep it, but am very dissapointed.

I had high hopes for this product but the brush does not pick up fine but visible particles on carpet and flooring.  The handle comes in three sections and they are hard to tighten.  As a result, they loosen up during each use but cannot be tightened sufficiently to keep them secure.   Since they loosen during use, the handle is never straight and does not provide a solid handle when use the sweeper.

Had High Hopes -- I should have returned it.
