We've gone through 4 portable A/C  units, the first one lasted for a year and a half and quit working properly, so the search began and after 3 additional units that I never even got to use do to shipping or manufacturing damage I found this unit, yes it's a little more expensive, but it work awesomely, we love it! This unit has been absolutely amazing!  I was going to hold out for a larger BTU but I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this Frigidaire beast.  Runs flawlessly and cools most of my 450 sq foot apartment.  If it was an open floor plan, this thing would Easily cool the entire apartment.  I've owned the same Frigidaire window unit for 7 years.  I'm hoping this lives up to the Frigidaire quality I've come to expect!!

Gets the job done RIGHT!

Much quieter than my previous 2. It also works. My last 2 did not make it a year and are now paperweights. Life's not good. This one cools quickly and relatively quietly. However, I still got the extended warranty.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our central air upstairs went out and the compressor was on backorder for over a month.  This was a lifesaver as we kept it in the low 70's on a 100 degree day.

It was hard to install in a vertical patio door. They didn't have enough plastic panels, and it was hard to find any online that matched.  
 It  wasn't really strong enough by itself for my living room but I only needed something to supplement my condos air conditioning system.  I think it would be fine for a smaller enclosed room such as a bedroom or office.

I used it for a couple of months this summer in my bedroom. It worked great keeping the room cool. The noise level is average. The only thing I didn't like was the window kit. I live in an apartment with a sliding window. There is nothing to keep it from sliding down when installed vertically.  I managed to get it to work but will probably buy a different kit for next summer.

Isn't as cold as a window unit, but my house has odd, sliders and no window unit would fit. It was fairly easy to install and helps keep us comfortable. Nice remote and control panel.
