The truth is that what I like most about this product is that it does not contain alcohol, so it leaves my hair in its place without damaging it. What I do love is that since it is liquid, it does not leave residues in my hair like almost all hair waxes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before using the Garnier Fructis matte and messy liquid putty I have heard of it but hadn't ever used anything like this before. I have really long hair and have a problem with it staying in place for work or just daily and this really helped. You basically only have to use a small quarter sized amount and then work it through your hair. It holds pretty well. I haven't had a problem with it yet and have been using it for a few weeks now. I would definitely reccomend it to anyone who needs a little extra hair support.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Garnier Fructis Style Matte and Messy Liquid Hair Putty had been something I had seen at the stores, wanted to try, but kept forgetting to get. So, when I was given the opportunity to take it for a 'test drive' I was excited! It was not at all messy to apply or greasy and was easy to work with, involved no build up, and had no residue like others I tried and ended up throwing out because of being messy and greasy. You just use a roughly quarter-size amount, rub together in your hands, and blend it in evenly through your hair on damp OR dry hair! Voila! Style perfection! Great job Garnier!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product work well. For work my hair needs to be neat so I am always looking for new gel/putty. I used this putty and used the amount they recommended however it was still way too much. It made my hair as hard as rocks but kept it in place.

Only use a small amount

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product after I washed my hair and towel dried.  I like that it's not greasy, doesn't leave any clumps or residue.. Also like that it doesn't contain any alcohol. You only need to put a quarter size dollop on your hands to most men's hair styles.  It did leave my hand a little sticky and had to be rinsed off. The putty helps create separation and definition to straight or wavy parts of your hair.  It added a bit of shine and kept some unruly hairs in place.  
I have used Citre Shine glossing wax before this.l  They are pretty much the same. I like that Citre is unisex and my wife uses it too. I wasn't ware of this product before I received the trial package in the program.

Would I buy Fructis Matte Messy Liquid Putty?

Didn't like this.  it might be better for someone who has thick or wavy hair.
