I am going virtual on all my photo albums, work and personal files, so scanning is a significant time investment. I have a Canon LIDE flatbed scanner that works great, but is too slow for the quantity of scanning I have. I was put off a bit at the price of a two-sided scanner, but once I started using the ScanSnap, I am kicking myself for not buying this a long time ago. I have had very little time to study the instructions, yet already figured out how to set up basic profiles for the different types of scanning I may be doing. It is lightening fast and allows you to tailor the setup to your style of organizing and filing. Instead of piling current receipts up for weeks, I am able to run them through in a minute each evening. It's compact, small desktop footprint, nice blue light for scan button, easy open/ close to save space. So simple, so fast, so worth the investment.

I use one of these at work and love it! So this Christmas I got one for home. We have both Mac and PC computers so it will work with both. Love it!

It's a snap to scan with Scansnap!

I had my doubts on this purchase, but have been extremely pleased with it after purchasing. I have a pack rat office and needed to organize it...but have difficultly throwing anything away. The ease and speed of this device along with the software make it a pleasure to use. I highly recommend.

very impressive

I have had this about a month now and wish i had gotten it long ago. I use it in the wired mode and it has performed flawlessly.It was easy to set up and is very fast. You can load a sheaf of papers, such as a multi-page bill and it scans them as one document. Of course you can also scan them individually. I do not use the manager for storing them I just set them to all go to one location I call "to be sorted" and then later sort them to where i want to permanently store them. I also edit the label of each as it is about to be scanned so that while I keep the date in the automatically provided label (or file-name) I can also add "citi" or some other identifier. .It is a little pricy but I would certainly want it if I were in a small business. I use it for home finances, etc

Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 Scanner

Love the scanner. I am unable to sit at a desk for extended periods of time. this scanner is very light and I can move to a snack table and sit on a recliner to do my scanning.. It is very fast, very intuitive. Love it!!!!!
Walmart was excellent, arrived early.

Excellent scanner, great value

I bought this to replace the older model I had, which no longer worked with Yosemite OS (Mac). I'd owned the previous ScanSnap about 10 years.
This is the updated model - still just as easy to use. There are more options for what to do with the scanned document.
I look forward to owning this one at least 10 more years.

Excellent workhorse of a scanner

We have scanned several hundred documents with no problems. I know some have had lemons, but so far, ours is working very well.

If you get a dark line down the center of scans, clean the glass under the scanner lid with a dry paper towel or a dry, lint-free cloth.

So far, so good

We got a defective product and had to call for a replacement in just 2 days of use causing us a lot of time in lost productivity.

This product is not for someone who just wants to copy file to a .pdf. Also, the documentation does not clearly explain how to make a simple .pdf or the myriad of extra functions.
