I first started using this wrist brace with my right hand. would often get bouts of carpal tunnel and immobilizing with the brace helps tremendously. normally for me a day or two and my wrist is back to normal. recently started to feel the same effects in my left wrist so now have a matched set. have had my right wrist for several years and it has held up well. the three Velcro strips make for a custom comfort fit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought 2 versions, one for left and one for right.

Pros:
1. Nice support and can be used without metal guard strips (use metal strips for better support)
2. Can be machine washed but recommend using on Gentle cycle on cool setting
3. Can be worn overnight

Cons:
1. Expensive if you buy one for each wrist and for replacement
2. Wrists/forearms get stiff once braces are removed
3. Questionable durability as Velcro straps are showing signs of not sticking well
- Need scissors to trim the excess fabric to make Velcro straps work
4. Recommend frequent cleanings as neoprene fabric does retain smell/odors/stains

Product needs improvement as I found that the metal insert had a sharp edge that caused the fabric to split. One possible solution would be to smooth the metal edge, or coat the tip with rubber or replace the metal insert with an acrylic insert.
A suggestion to extend the life of the Velcro that might not work for everyone: I treat the brace like a glove, as I slide it on and off like one. I don't have a tight fit, but it still is snug and supportive enough to fulfill the purpose of the brace.
I called the company to report my findings about the sharp edge on the metal insert, and they were attentive to my situation.

Good foundation, needs improvement

This product provides great relief - have carpal tunnel in both wrists and this allows a great deal of comfort.  But - after wearing for multiple days (not even washing) the straps are fraying and curling up at the edges.  The cost of the product makes it not easily replaceable.

Provides great relief - but product straps fray

I got this about a month ago for my carpal tunnel, and I loved how it worked, it would always relieve me of my pain. Although it started to wear out only a couple of weeks into wearing it, the Velcro stopped sticking, I would be wearing it and it would suddenly just come off because the velcro would give up. I know that this happens because of wear and tear, but I did not wear it 24/7. Overall I think that this product wasn't very good, especially considering the price. if it didn't wear out so fast I would love it. And I would buy another one if it wasn't so expensive.

Comfortable, but wore out fast

I have carpal tunnel in both wrists and sleep with heavy duty supports at night.  I like this model for daytime support because it has a low profile and is the most comfortable in that it allows for much freer movement of fingers, use of mouse and writing.  The only problem is the velcro wears out very quickly.  I'm on my 3rd one in less than a year.  This makes it questionable for long term use in my opinion. Please improve the quality/durability of the velcro and  maybe even the size of the velcro coverage.  Do this and you'll have a rock solid product!!

I've put these braces three or four times in the last two years and yes they do provide comfort and they ease the pain with my carpal tunnel and my arthritis but the biggest problem is the Velcro‘s does not stay after  you wear it a few times it stop sticking.  In comparison to other wrist products this one is very comfortable but something needs to be done with the Velcro's

I bought this wrist support because this is a 3M product. I believe buying items made in the US. I never expected that the Velcro/ hook and loop tape would be the first component to wear out or not function correctly. For the first three months this support as compression really did the job and stabilized my hand and wrist. The brace appeared to be a fantastic product. The aluminum stabilizer bar fit just right. I found it easy to hand wash and it dried quickly but after about three months the hook part of the tape would not keep the wrist brace stable or in place. I looked up info on line and read that the hook part of the tape could be full of threads, etc. Not if you hand wash it. I attached rubber bands on the brace to keep the hook and loop tape in place to secure the brace but it stopped the blood circulation in my right hand. The plastic hooks are not strong enough to make the right connection and provide compression and stability. And if compression and stability is not attainable from this device then the device has failed.

The good and the bad.

the Velcro wears out quick and the care instructions on the website to did not help it secure better. Additionally, this product is not meant to be worn every day as the seams and stitching wear out quicker, resulting in having to purchase another brace every couple of months. It would be cheaper to just spend more money on a brace that is specifically designed for long term constant wear as opposed to having to replace this one so frequently.
