Great washer

geappliances.com

So far this washer has been amazing. I cannot get over how large the tub is. You look in and it doesn't look that big, but then you start adding clothes and keep adding and you still have plenty of room. I love the smart dispense, no more pre-measuring the detergent prior to each load, the only bad thing is it's hard to determine when it's actually full. I love all of the different wash features and on this one I can select a cycle and then make adjustments to that cycle. My previous washer if I selected one of the cycles, most of them I couldn't make any small changes to them. I read a lot of reviews where people complained about the water fill level. I was curious so I watched the washer fill up just to see what everyone was talking about. I could see where someone would like more water but the amount of water is enough for it to be efficient at washing the clothes, but it does have a feature that allows you to add more water. I also read a lot and I mean a lot of reviews about the washer always being out of balance. I was almost hesitant to purchase it for that reason. In the time that I have had this washer I have not experienced any issues with balance. I also read a lot of reviews about the noise level. It is a little bit noisier than my old front load (before the spin cycle), but it is not a noticeable noise difference. Even with the bad reviews I decided to take a chance because it had all the features that I wanted, plus some extras and so far I have absolutely been pleased with this washer including the Wi-Fi feature. I will state we purchased the set directly from GE, it was a little cheaper through GE and we had the option of installation. We purchased our previous set through a big box store and I don't think they take their time when unloading appliances and are rough with them, because even in boxes we still received them with dents in the side of them. By going through GE we finally have scratch and dent free appliances, which I think will add to its longevity.

Amazing washer

I've been extremely impressed with the GE Profile™ ENERGY STAR® 5.4 cu. ft. Capacity Washer with Smarter Wash Technology and Adaptive SmartDispense. The large capacity makes a huge difference—I can wash bigger loads, including bedding and bulky items, without any problem, which saves both time and effort.

The Smarter Wash Technology really stands out. It automatically adjusts settings to get the best clean possible, and I've noticed my clothes come out consistently fresh and spotless. The Adaptive SmartDispense feature is a game changer too—it holds enough detergent for multiple loads and dispenses the perfect amount every time, so there's no guesswork.

I also appreciate how quiet and efficient it is. Even during heavier cycles, it runs smoothly without a lot of noise, and the ENERGY STAR® efficiency helps keep utility costs down. The controls are intuitive and easy to use, and the overall design feels modern and high-quality.

Overall, this washer combines convenience, performance, and efficiency in one machine. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, high-capacity washer with smart features that actually make laundry easier.

Love the size of my new washer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] [Employee of ge_appliances] I love to have every feature available, whether I use them or not! This washer is one of the few appliances I have that I actually use most of the features on.
Prior to this unit, I hadn't used a top load washer for about 15 years. Washers have come a long way since then! I did have to adjust my mindset to the new sounds they make and ways they operate.
My favorite option on this washer is the smart dispense. It's so nice to just add detergent every couple of weeks instead of every load. Especially when you have kids using it. The unit dispenses the perfect amount and then notifies me when I need to refill it. I've never had clothes that had too little or too much detergent in the load.
My spouse likes to use the Bulky cycle, which fills the washer to the top with water, but I haven't even seen the need to use that much water. This unit washes my blankets and large loads great without it. I will sometimes add a little more water to a larger load, but I'm not even sure it needs that.
This washer cleans fantastic, without taking a long time. My normal cycle time is about 35-40 min. Even if I add an extra rinse, more spin and wash time, my cycle is about an hour.
The best thing about this unit is the app! I can change my default cycles - I like to wash my towels in hot water so I changed that cycle in my app. I added more spin time to every cycle so my clothes dry quicker in the dryer, I added an extra rinse on my whites cycle, since I sometimes use bleach. The app also lets me use the washer as a sink, with the water station feature. You can soak clothes before washing them. The app shows how much hot and cold water my washer uses. It notifies my when the load is almost done or done, so I don't have to watch it and wait to move the load. You can ask the app what cycles to use for certain fabrics and stains. The app is always updating with new features and capability. Since my washer is connected to wifi l, I get automatic updates to my washer. I haven't had an issue with my washer, but do like that it could be troubleshooted over wifi if I did.
Overall a great experience so far.

Features I actually use!

It was great until we hit the one year mark when the warranty expired. Part of the inside lid broke off before the one year date but I wasn't too concerned about it. Now it's at a point where it won't open all of the way and we have to use a heavy block on top of the lid to hold it down and trick the machine into thinking the lid is locked.

BEWARE: Inside of lid is cheap plastic

I wanted this washer for the large capacity, BUT truly struggling with this washer to not leave residue detergent/softener on my cloths, specifically black clothes. I have tried every cycle, extra rinses (I'm using much more water than I should), and often have to wash clothes twice. Also struggling with balancing overall, it runs out of balance frequently with the large loads. Disappointed overall. Ironically, I have this same washer in another location but the front loader and it works great. This top loader is awful.

Disappointed overall - residue on clothes

If I could give it a 0 star I would! It never stays level, always off balance. It shakes and rocks back and forth and drum hits the sides of the unit. I've had it looked at several times and they tell me to either add more clothes or not put as many in. I've tried several different settings, spins, different clothing and it does is almost every single time. I have to stop it mid cycle and re-arrange the items and hope it spins the out!

Worst washing machine

This review is for ALL top load GE washers without agitator and should not have even 1 star.

This is by far the worst washing machine I have ever owned or operated in my entire life of doing laundry. It uses at least three times more water than necessary due to constant load imbalance issues, regardless of load size. The machine repeatedly fails to spin properly to extract water from the clothes, instead continuing to add more water in an attempt to rebalance the load. This cycle repeats over and over until the machine eventually defaults and stops, leaving the clothes soaking wet.

As a result, the washer requires constant monitoring and manual redistribution of clothing during the drain and spin cycles. Even after manually correcting the balance and running multiple drain-and-spin cycles, the clothes still come out excessively heavy with moisture. This ongoing issue has also caused excessive wear and damage to my dryer belts and motors from having to dry overly saturated loads.

Washer is TERRIBLE , doesn't fill all the way, doesn't drain all the way, doesn't clean all the clothes in the bowl, the bowl rocks and bangs in every load. Junk! And you can't connect with a real person at GE to get a solution! Buyers beware of this crap

Absolutely worst washer we've ever had

This washer is not the best too many issues and not enough water to wash the clothes but then it'll fill up to the rim an leave clothes soak clothes don't be clean either the smart Hq doesn't let you start your loads with app. Alexa doesn't always connect. Less than a year old and already running weird
