I've been using the GE® ENERGY STAR® Top Control Dishwasher (model GDT670SGVBB) for a bit now, and overall I'm pretty happy with it. The design is one of the first things I noticed—it has a really sleek, modern look with the top controls hidden, so it blends nicely into the kitchen without a cluttered front panel.

One of the biggest positives is how quiet it is. It's not completely silent, but it's quiet enough that I can run it while watching TV or having a conversation without it being distracting. The cleaning performance has been solid for everyday loads, and it handles dishes, glasses, and utensils well as long as everything is loaded properly.

I've also been impressed with the drying, especially compared to older dishwashers I've used. The Dry Boost feature does a good job, and dishes come out mostly dry, even plastics, which is usually a weak spot for many machines.

The extra third rack is a nice bonus—it makes it easier to fit utensils and smaller items without crowding the lower racks. That said, it can take a little time to get used to the best way to load everything for optimal results.

The dishwasher holds a lot of dishes and does a great job of getting them clean,  It's very quiet and does not interfere with day to day activities.  The third rack is very helpful and flexible in what you can put there.  We like that you can pick different wash zones if needed.

Replacement DIshwasher

Glasses, silverware and dishes come out sparkling clean. I just wish it had come with a users manual because there are other features I need to explore like the flat top tray and it looks like there is a bottle washer too. I need to find the manual online which is a step I wish I did  not need to do.

Sparkling Clean

I've used it once and compared to the old unit made by a different manufacturer it absolutely the bomb! It's quiet, very quiet and it has good capacity! The dishes were clean, as expected. There are features I really like for instance the flatware and deep glass glass jets. It's too early to rate the dependability but I'm optimistic.

Great value!

Cleans fine. Noise level fine. Interior, the top shelf and bottle jets are  a nice touch. I really DO NOT like the wire shelving design of both the main shelves. The upper one is so asymmetrical, can't get items in the center row area to rest firmly, and not enough support on right side. On the bottom shelf it's worse--not enough support crosswise in area for "big" plates and through center. I could fit more dishes on both shelves in my older dishwasher. Not satisfied at all with the shelving configuration.

Average--shelf configuration poor

We love that this dishwasher is also so quiet! All of the dishes get so clean. The reason for my lack of five stars is because too frequently as we are putting dishes in the lower rack, the rack comes off its guide, and we have to unload the bottom rack in order to get it back where it's supposed to be. I don't believe that this should happen just because we are pulling out that rack to place items in it. The other reason for three stars is the top rack is not very well organized. I have to figure out how to place most glasses so they're not banging into one another and the silverware holder along the side of the bottom rack frequently prevents the water arm from totally circling because a knife or a fork is tall. The very top rack is to be used for knives or any other utensils that doesn't need to be jostled around. Unfortunate thing is that when I place knives in there there is a buildup of something on the knives and the only way to get it off is to wash them all by hand. I no longer use that very top and it's a potentially very useful shelf.

Very quiet

Dishwasher is very quite.
Dishwasher fails to clean my tea cup when I don't wash all the honey out of it by hand before placing in the dishwasher.  It leaves streeks even when using the normal setting, adding steam and heat boost.  When I remove the cup after the 4 hour and 42 minute cycle it is streaked. I hoped it would be spotless!!  I can easily remove those streaks with faucet water after the wash and it doesn't have to be very hot.  This may only happen when the cup is in one of the "corners" of the dishwasher top rack as it appears those are weak points in being sprayed.  Our old dishwasher did the same thing and that's why we purchased a new one. Seems we wasted our money.  After about a month of use we are still trying to figure out the best placement for our dishes inside the washer.  How to organize our dishes is not intuitive and limits capacity.  However I like the silverware rack however it hits the side of the dishwasher until it is about 1/3 to 1/2 full.

Disappointed in new GE Dishwasher

Bought this one to replace the GE dishwasher that only lasted 5 years. Only went with GE again so color matched.  Within three days I had to replace the door springs because the door just dropped open everytime you touched it. Thought GE products were supposed to be good, but slowly finding out they are not. Dishes do come out clean though.

Poor quality

This product is garbage. I bought it brand new, it broke within months and has been broken since october 2nd 2025. It has a "failure to dain (FTD) error code on the screen and wont complete cycles.

DO NOT BUY

The dishwasher racks are very cheaply made and do not arrange dishes in a normal manner.  Some are spaced too far apart to hold plates and others just do no fit well.  The third rack does not hold the extra items well. The silverware holder is a poor design.   I do not recommend this dishwasher for these reasons.
