I was able to open these claws easily with my just my thumb and pointer finger.  They're strong enough to hold my thick long hair, too. Teeth are rounded and thicker, so I have high hopes they won't break off.  A tip: If a few teeth break off on your claw clip, they can be repurposed to prop up your houseplants instead of throwing them away.

I did not believe that this clip eould hold my long hair and stay put. It exceeded my expectations and more. The hinge is very stiff for the first few uses but does get easier to open. It is very comfortable as well because there is nothing sticking out.

Great clip, very comfortable

These feel well made and firm hopefully they won't break apart like all the other brands have. I have long past the shoulders hair and sorta thick and these hold it up easily all day. Love them!

Hold my hair!!

great for thick or heavy hair! i was using the regular octopus hair claws but they would fall out because my hair is just heavy. these didnt look any bigger online but i thought what the heck, and im so pleasantly surprised that i love them!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are awesome hair clips. I have very long thick hair and break hair clips all the time. These are nice and substantial. I can actually twist all my hair up and these clips hold it in place. I don't use hair ties a lot. I usually twist it into a loose bun and use a pencil to hold it because most clips can't do the job and hair ties always pull my hair out. I love these and will be getting more!

So, I loved these clips for use, BUT I bought them because they said no break. Both of them are broken in a few months time and I went to buy more because I liked them and the only one in the store was broken just sitting in the package. So, as I said, I like these clips, but they should NOT claim 'no break design'. They are cheap quality to say the least.

Break just as easy as any other clips

They are great clips and I love the way they look, but they are NOT unbreakable. They break just as easily as the regular claw clips. I've gotten several since I like how they look, but many have broken teeth and hinge.

Good look and design, not great quality

I loved the way it felt. Didn't hurt one bit but I could tell the first time I put it on that the plastic was not going to be strong enough to hold the spring for long. Sure enough it snapped and I was being very careful. I just got it 2 days ago.

Horrible Hair Clips! Don't Buy!

It says NO BREAK DESIGN but after I took off the packaging and pinched it to open the clip, it snapped right in half. So I tried the 2nd clip and same scenario,  it snapped.  I will be returning even though they were only $4 just for The principle

Broke BOTH on first day of purchase

These clips are impossible to open with one hand. You need both hands to pry them open. So if you're holding your hair in place with one hand, you can't open the clip to secure it with the other hand.
