[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a good quality product. I used to get the Pro-Mix several years ago, but it had large wood chunks in it that had to be removed. This seems like a finer mix and very compressed. Just add water and it's great for making my germination blocks in seed trays.

This is the first time I learned of PRO MIX Compressed Mix and it is easy to prepare with the added water, breaking it up and using.  The instructions were easy to follow on the package.
I am using it for growing herbs on two garden tables to ensure that the soil remains moist to encourage being successful that my seeds grow, develop and produce an abundance of  home grown fresh herbs with companion flowers.

My Herb Haven!

Little Rock's and twigs in the soil but not too many , the amount of soil I received was correct 2 cubic feet but it's around 15 gallons . Light and airy since is mostly peat moss . I use it for cannabis. Usually use coco coir and perlite but this has been a nice cheap switch . I didn't notice a bad smell like other reviews but I use this outside anyways 
Cheapest most “ready” soil option I've found

After tiring of purchasing so many tiny bags of seed starter each year, I  began using ProMix Organic instead. Now, several years later, I use it it for all my seed starting and up potting until plants go into my gardens. I've  had wonderful results and highly recommend it.

This is the best bang for your buck POTTING soil you can buy. HOWEVER, keep in mind that you will need to amend it with other things depending on what stage your plants are in. You might need to add bone meal, blood meal, compost, worm casting, fertilizer, etc...

It's good value if you can buy it at a discount

I love that it's compressed, it makes it so much easier to move around and it doesn't take up so much space in my wagon. 

I don't add water in order to break it up. It's easy to scoop out, break up, mix with whatever you want to mix it with, and so on.

I've bought this several times, I'll buy again

I've been using this for years now. It's so much easier to carry than big bags. I empty them into a trash can and use a scoop. I go through 6 per year for potted plants and containers. It's organic too! You do need to add your own fertilizer but that's what makes it organic.

Versatile!!!

Honestly I was so excited about a compact light weight soil UNTIL I opened it up, 1. its far from 2 cubic feet (i am a seasoned gardner) 2. the stench was not because it was organic but moldy and entire package was wet/moist 3. Since I doubt i can put it back in a bag to return I WASTED MY $ AND WAS SO SO SO DISAPPOINTED

This is NOT compressed soil. It is simply a bag of soil the seller lied about to sucker people, like me, into buying. Would return it, but had to open to find out these people are scam artists!
