Love the grip and thickness of this slick-looking (no pun intended) mat. Also love the different size options; the regular is great for my wife and the longer/wider version works better for me at 6'1". Great great customer service at Gaiam; on my first mat the design faded in the middle and that area became less sticky after a few months of daily use, but they quickly replaced the mat when I sent pics. Too soon with the new one to determine if the design wear is a recurring issue, but overall I am satisfied with all featurea of the mat.

I bought this mat for myself for my birthday and I'm in love with it! It's completely perfect for hot yoga and I needed a latex free mat because I'm allergic and I couldn't be happier with this mat! And it's pretty cute too which is always a plus! Doesn't stink. Dries fast. Absolutely no slipping

In love with this mat!

I am new to yoga and have always suffered from sweaty hands and feet. I had trouble slipping around on a regular mat. I bought this mat and used it for the first time this week. I can't say enough great things. It does show your sweaty prints for a few minutes, but then dries totally. I never slipped once. It was almost like I had more grip even though I was sweaty. I highly recommend this mat. Also bought the sling carrier for my mat and the balance ball chair. The products arrived quickly and are all awesome.

Awesome products

I've been using this mat for several weeks, and I absolutely love it! When I first received it, it barely had an odor. I still let it lay out for a few days, and now I don't smell anything at all. I'm a very bony person, and with the 5mm i can actually use my knees without it being painful. I typically slide around like crazy on mats, but I haven't slide a single time on this. Love it and highly recommend!

Fantastic mat!

I received this mat as a gift about a year ago and loved it for close to 8 months. It was the best mat I've used. Stuck like glue in balancing poses and had great cushion without being the least unstable. Unfortunately, after about 8 months of yoga only 1 to 2 times a week, the rubber on the top started crumbling and piling up, making my hands and feet slip and leaving blue grit on my clothes. I emailed customer service and they immediately sent me a brand new mat. It was the easiest and best replacement service I have used with any company. My new mat is in the mail and I can't wait to receive it.

Best Customer Service Ever!

I have only had this mat for about two weeks, but it looks like I've been using for a year. The surface to practice on is non-slip and great overall, but I'm kinda grossed out by seeing my forehead print (probably oily/sweaty skin?) left on the mat, handprints, heel prints, pretty much everywhere I've been on there. Maybe this doesn't bother others, but I'm not loving it and already want to change to a different mat. It also seems to hold onto every hair and dirt speck on the floor around it, and maybe it just shows up more because the surface is smooth, unlike my old mats.

Great for class, but already dirty!

I got this mat as a birthday gift. I've used it probably 3 times a week for 6 month. I do home yoga (I'm not a hardcore yogi). It is non slip, but otherwise I expected much more from Gaiam. The color is coming off. Every time I clean it the rag is colored purple (I'm only using water and occasionally mat cleaner) and it is bubbling. It also peels up as I'm using it, leaving a black grit on the mat as I'm doing yoga (it reminds me of the leftovers from a pencil eraser).

falling apart

I have 2 of these mats, both are defective after less than a year of use. The first one I had bubbled up and started separating. Gaiam stood by their word and replaced, but now the second one is defective. Like other reviewers, I leave class with purple residue all over me and the once grippy mat is now incredibly sticky. Super bummed, as it's a great product for the first couple months of use!

Nice at first but wears quickly

I loved this mat when I first received it, but within a few months the top coat started to come off where I place my hands and feet. IIt results with black grit all over my hands and feet. There are also spots where the top coat is separating from the mat. Ive stopped using it completely and had to purchase another mat. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Crumbled under the pressure

I bought this mat about a year ago through this website and I absolutely loved practicing yoga on this mat until the surface of the mat, especially where I put my hands and feet started to crumble. The crumbles stick to my body everytime I use the mat and it is so gross. I am so disappointed. I recommend this mat to all my yogi friends and now I feel shame for myself.

Dosen't last long.
