[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up Role Model after finishing Heated Rivalry and The Long Game, and it was a great follow-up.

This one is a bit slower and more introspective, focusing on personal growth and accountability. Troy isn't likable right away, but his development feels real and rewarding. The romance is softer and more grounded, and Harris is a great balance to his character.

The first few chapters set up Troy at a low point, and while it starts a little slow, it quickly pulls you in. The story build is worth it. 

Overall, a thoughtful, insightful and satisfying read—just don't expect the same intensity as Heated Rivalry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed Role Model by Rachel Reid—it ended up being one of the most memorable books in the series for me.

At first, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Troy since he doesn't exactly start off as a likable character, but his redemption arc completely won me over. Watching him confront his past behavior and slowly grow into a better, more honest version of himself was incredibly satisfying. The emotional depth really stood out, especially with how the book tackles serious topics like toxic locker room culture and coming out.

It focuses on two people who balance each other so well, showing how much patience and persistence can really change someone's outlook. It's not just a typical sports story; it's really about finding the courage to be yourself when the whole world is watching.  If you're into this series, be sure to keep reading with this one.

A “grumpy vs sunshine” romance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my favorite book in the Game Changers series. The main characters are both very likeable and I was rooting for both of them. I loved that they actually talked and got to know each other before jumping into bed, and that they always were respectful towards each other.  Having Ilya Rozanov as a major secondary character was great; all his scenes were very funny! I preferred the humor and romance over the steamy scenes, but those were easy to skim through. You don't have to have read the rest of the series to enjoy Role Model, but I think you should at least read Heated Rivalry first, so that you can more fully understand some of the side characters.
