 steel is the traditional material for paella, and some paella devotees 
feel that it enhances flavor. As with any raw steel pan, it requires 
some care: you must dry the pan right after washing it and then rub the 
inside with a little vegetable oil to prevent rusting. If the pan does

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Classic paella pan. It is a lighter gauge metal pan from Spain and requires special treatment to prevent rust.  Wash, dry and lightly oil the pan. It will make a beautiful classic paella rice dish indoors or outside. I purchased this to replace a much loved and well used Garcima pan I gave to a family member.

I have washed it following care instructions (no issues with rusting at this point)- I'm sure proper care will avoid rusting( others commented on rusting- but with proper care rusting shouldn't be an issue).

Seems to heat evenly and food cooks very well. The only slight negative is the cleaning. You may need some elbow grease depending on what is cooked on it.
