I have owned the Garmin Forerunner 255 Music for about two years and I use it daily for tracking MTB rides and my overall health journey. I love this watch.

My first unit had a hardware failure within the first few months, but Garmin replaced it fairly easily. Since the replacement, the watch has been flawless.

Accuracy has been excellent for both distance and tracking. It works smoothly with my power meters and my Garmin scale, and it does a great job monitoring the health metrics I actually care about. I ended up putting my wife and my son on the same model, and we use the challenges together, which has been a fun extra motivator.

If you want a reliable, accurate watch for daily health tracking and MTB rides, the Forerunner 255 Music has been outstanding for me.

The non Amoled screen is way better in bright sunny conditions. I only charge it once every other week. The Spotify compatibility is great. I swim with it in the pool and saltwater and it's never had any issues. I use when skiing, which is fun. The heartbeat sensor seems to be very accurate and the steps counter is pretty good too. The training status seems to be very accurate and keeps me from getting burnt out. I've had it for over 3 years now and it's going strong.

Great features as my previous Garmin. And the connection to Spotify is great. I don't have to bring my phone when I run.

This is the second garmin watch I've owned. The first being the 645 forerunner.  I feel the 255 is more user friendly and has smarter technology.  My only wish is that it had greater pixel quality.  The upside of this is that it is easier to see in direct sunlight.  But when using the face it option of personalizing the watch face with graphics, the color is washed.  Other than this, it does everything I want and need it to.

Very light and comfortable

I upgraded my watch specifically for my Ironman race because my older garmin couldnt last all day anymore and I wanted my watch throughout my race. Well, the Garmin messed up twice. First, I had moved on from my second transition on the watch during the race, then an hour into my run the run portion restarted... so I had no idea where I was at on my run for the full 26 miles. Then, when I finished my race the file was corrupted so wouldnt upload. I called and had to eventually manually upload my race... The watch still doesnt clock that I have done a marathon. So frustrating to pay for a new watch for a specific event for it to fail so miserably. The watch works well outside of the race, but is basically the same as I had before with newer features.

Ironman Fail

I was greatly disappointed in the Forerunner 255 Music.  It is far more complicated than the vivoactive6 I was upgrading from.  I was looking forward to more emphasis on walking and hiking but couldn't get past the first "Run" screen.

It's complicated.

I have been struggling with this watch for almost two years now. I bought it specifically because of the music feature, which has been beyond disappointing. I have not experience this level of tech frustration since the era of dial-up internet! Nothing about it works properly. I have bought not one, not two, but SIX different bluetooth earphones, and NONE of them have a reliable connection. Some of them do not connect at all. I have tried all the different ways of uploading music/podcasts, and NONE of them work properly. Even when I connect my watch to my computer with an actual wire, the watch only agrees to upload a small percentage of my music. Garmin, you let me down. I give up.

Total and complete disappointment
