Battery Life

Charger

Screen

I'm an old-school watch nerd/enthusiast who hasn't worn one of my nice watches since I started wearing my Garmin - I'm obsessed with the biofeedback data and just telling the time (maybe the day/date) simply doesn't compare to the health benefits of tracking my workouts, sleep and other performance variables. Plus I love having a backup torch on my wrist at all times. I'd expected the solar to charge faster, but only mind not getting my data for a few minutes a week when I have to take it off to recharge via the plugin.

The only risk is to your wristwatch collection

Garmin

I got it as a gift for my birthday. As a Fenix 7X sapphire solar user, I like this watch alot. Getting used to no touch screen was slightly different but actually pleasant, theres a ton of options and different menus compared. It also seems theres a few days more battery life. I get 28 on my Fenix I get around 30-31 on the Instinct 3 solar tactical. Both watches are Solar models!

Instinct 3 Solar Tactical

For those who want a functional tool on their wrist that happens to tell time, as opposed to a conventional smartwatch. Found myself appreciating the flashlight more than expected, and the battery life makes it a great wear and forget piece of equipment.

Great piece of equipment

I really enjoy this watch I have had it a little over two weeks and am really impressed with it and the functions I got this model to be able to use with my Garmin Alpha 300I system for search and rescue recovery k9 work makes watching my K9 so much easier.

Great watch

Honestly before this watch I was an apple guy, have been for years but I was tired of the crap battery and the shattering screens. If you're an indoors dude stay with apple but men need this watch. Battery is awesome, watch is STRONG and in general just eye candy 10/10 recommend and I have no regrets or critiques. Just wish I got this sooner.

Love this watch!

It's my first smart watch, thus has nothing to compare with. Garmin Instinct 3 Solar Tactical looks solid, absolutely love the Torch (each time using it feel like a kid during Christmas, lol). I can't say much about the fitness features yet, as I've had a pretty sedentary lifestyle and have only been using the watch for less than a month. The main selling point for me was the battery life—I really like the idea that it can potentially last over a month with enough sun exposure.

Fun watch

I had the Garmin Instinct 1 Solar for the past five years which was a great watch. I wanted to upgrade to the Instinct 3 Solar to better monitor my health stats. I have not been disappointed since the upgrade. The watch has exceeded all my expectations and the sensors are exponentially better than my Instinct 1 Solar. Highly recommend this watch to anyone looking for a great all-around watch.

Great Upgrade from the Instinct 1 Solar

Perfect for someone who loves a G-Shock but wants more tracking. I charge it maybe once a week but it still has 60-70% battery life left. That's after several runs/walks/rides where gps was used. No touch screen (massive plus for me) and very comfortable. Perfect watch.

Fantastic watch

Thought this was gonna be more than I needed and I was right however it's nice having the convenience when an opportunity presents itself.

Good watch

I bought this about a month ago. My first garmin watch and in my opinion it's not worth the price. The solar feature that cost more is useless. I still have to charge it. I have never had that problem with my very old gshock. The lock for the band is plastic which probably won't last too long. That's just to name a couple of things wrong with it. Im really not satisfied with it so far.

Not worth the money

Garmin Instinct® 3 Tactical Edition, 45mm rugged outdoor GPS smartwatch with solar-charged display, shown in a front-facing view. Features include a bolted fiber-reinforced polymer case, metal-reinforced bezel, and scratch-resistant lens. The smartwatch displays time, weather, and health metrics on its 1.1” screen. Designed for durability with MIL-STD-810 thermal and shock resistance, 10 ATM water rating, and tactical features like waypoint projection, stealth mode, and compatibility with night vision goggles. Ideal for outdoor adventures and tactical missions.
