Preface: I've been dyeing my hair for 20+ yrs, to cover emerging, then proliferating, grays. Also because I love to color, change things up a bit or a lot. All major brands, including Garnier, since the beginning. Anyway, a year ago I decided to embrace the gray and my natural medium to dark brown, and splurged on salon visit to have all dye stripped (it was 4 shades and splotchy).  Planned to salon-dye that lightened hair to match what would start growing in. So, kind of start fresh, and no more haphazard home dye every 4-6 weeks. Then a pandemic arrived, salons a no-go, and due to finances I eventually decided to just grow out the blond-orange while waiting for “my” hair to emerge.  Fast forward 13 months to last week... I decided I was tired of my “blorange” and would try to match it to my now much longer natural gray and brown. Garnier's shade try-on tool cinched the deal when I saw what a few dark browns might do.   I'd hoped there was a way to at least partially show my many shades of lightened through the new dye. Looked promising; I was pretty worried it would all end up too dark and too one dimensional. But. Discovering this dark platinum brown seemed potentially miraculous, considering how many shades of blond and red and brown I was dealing with. I could visualize possible success using these cool filters! I would have picked a much lighter, not ashy, redder shade on my own I'm sure, which would have been less than ideal I see now. I excitedly ordered my Olia 4.11 a few days ago, and today I feel like a gorgeous new-old me. I applied it only to the old growth, leaving my silvery speckled top half in its virgin state (a huge priority). I think the results are incredible for a single process, at-home effort. Sorry for so much rambling, but I'm just beyond impressed and delighted AND relieved, and think the photos actually tell the story best. Loyal customer for life now!

I agree 100% with the other person who reviewed it. I am light complected too and always found most dark browns turned me black. This didn't. The cons.... the gigantic tube of developer was difficult to use. Just put it in the bottle and do away with the tube.. ok, Garnier? I have small hands and the gloves were teenie tiny on me. Not good. A more ergonomical dispenser would be great too. It's a great product, but it becomes difficult or awkward to use due to the packaging. FANTASTIC grey coverage!

Great Product...

I used the Olia two times. I have such thick hair that I have to use two boxes. I adore the color, and get a ton of compliments on it but the color bleeds out into my clothes and pillowcases WEEKS after I have colored my hair. Really? This shouldn't be happening. Because of this I switched to another brand. I just couldn't ruin my clothes anymore.

I want to cry! I have used Olia 6.43 for over 10 years with AMAZING results, and got my sister hooked on it as well. We use it to cover our grays and no one even knows that we dye our hair. Until two months ago. The Color that we have been using for years and years betrayed us and turned our hair bright orange!! Either the formula has changed or there was a mistake or something because it looked hideous. This is not a case of not knowing how to use the product or not knowing what it was going to look like. My sister and I dye our hair every 6-8 weeks so we know what it is supposed to look like. So, so, so disappointed!

Favorite hair color for over 10 years!

Misleading product hair dye is not natural. It does have a chemicals in it and it's not all oils I am allergic to hair dye. I always use hair dye that are made out of plants and oils and things like that and this one put me to hospital last night, which it tells you that it's not a natural product.

The hair dye is starting to fade and is getting out of the hair and i dyed it last week this is a really bad product. I can see my blonde hair coming back but last week it was pretty dark but now it's just getting blonder.

Color fading out the hair after a week

im not usually one to write bad reviews, but i have never been more unhappy with a haircolor before %26 i need to speak my piece about it. i ordered the dark honey blond shade, in the hopes it would be, you know, honey colored. i have natraly medium blond hair at my new growth %26 bleached blond across the rest of hair length. So I asumed a "dark honey blond" hair color would help blend my new growth in with the rest %26 give a warm toned dark blond all over. what i got inside is the most muddy looking muted dirty dishwater blond ive ever seen. my roots are practically brunette and the areas that were bleached are a dull gray, almost silver ish in the light. how does that make sinse? if its ment to look like honey, why on gods green earth is it cool toned??? 🤨 it seriosly looks almost blue ish on the ends in some light! how does that happen? make it make since. now i need to buy a whole new color just to fix it!

I have used Garnier hair color for years. So far the best, in my opinion, is the Nutrisse Foam. I am a loyal Garnier customer so I wanted to try the Olia (plus so many deals and coupons on it so why not). I was pretty disappointed.

Firstly, I ran out of hair dye. I have short hair that goes TO MY CHIN (it is thick), and my hair was NOT saturated with the product when I ran out. It was very unfortunate- I never have this problem with the foam.

This led to now my hair has patches of faded out color and looks very uneven. I thought it was strange how I used it all up so quickly.

My other problem was it will NOT STOP washing out! I dyed it the 25th of March and am still seeing color come out on towels exactly two weeks later. Which for me is about 5 hair washes. That is ridiculous! I ruined quite a few hotel towels on a trip over a weekend because of this hair color. (see picture of towel attached).

Sorry Garnier, I LOVE your foam color and will continue to buy it--but would NOT recommend this new one. I don't even like saying that but it's true!

Missed the Mark

Really disappointing. I read the directions several times and also watched the Garnier Pro YouTube video, which clearly illustrated step-by-step instructions. I followed the directions exactly, with the exception of the processing time. I added 5 minutes, for a total of 35 minutes. The color did not “take” on any of my gray roots.
