I have had this pump for 5 or so years now so it is time to give my props to Generac.
My pump has sat exposed,on the ground, on the bank of my creek the entire time I have owned it.
365 days a year no matter the weather. I pump water up a 75 ft hill into a pond twice a week, year round. In the winter I drain it between uses.
3 years ago I forgot to drain it one evening and the pump housing cracked. Even after that It still pushes enough pressure to send the water up that hill so I never replaced it. Too expensive.
I have only drained and changed the oil once.
I use regular gas...not premium.
This thing has never let me down...despite my near neglect...and it shows no sign of quitting yet!
My suction hose just quit on me though. It doesnt flex well in the cold anymore and snapped in half.
If you take care of this pump I have no doubt it will last you your lifetime.

Tough and Reliable Workhorse

So pleased with this small water pumping unit. Purchased first unit used. Starts right up every time. Runs very quietly. And very economical fuel consumption, runs 2 hours on the small tank of gas. (Wow). I have recently purchased my second "brand new" unit to have "waiting in the wings". Reason for second purchase is my little pump is starting to use oil, but needless to say is still being used and works as good as the day I bought it. I'm have pulled water up a 45 degree incline approx. 40 feet through 1" PEX, then discharged through 150' feet of 5/8" garden hose and produces a good stream. I have not been easy on this pump and engine as I am exceeding its rated capabilities. When searching for a replacement had considered the over priced Honda, but honestly, why would anyone pay 2x's as much for same results. Very pleased with the CW10K 1" unit.

Great little work horse.

Bought new locally. Use it to pump water from totes to other totes. Use it to pump liquid fertilizer to tank on tractor. Use it dewater my basement. Water trees and the garden. Had it for 4 years, thousand of gallon pumped. No problems. Great starting, easy priming, light weight. Good job.

Lot of pumping power

The water pump is a work horse for me. My property gets
a lot of water from the rains and neighbor's that direct run off
water from their property into mine. The pump primes easily
and usually starts after 4-5 pulls.

I have had the water pump a little over 1 year now and the
only suggestions I have is to design the lift handle better. My
lift handle corroded and customer service is sending me a
replacement one. The other problem I have is with the gas
tank cap, it is not easy to put on and sometimes it becomes
loose when the pump is running.

The product is a work horse.

I'm a General Contractor who purchased this pump for de-watering footings in spring, when setting concrete wall forms.  
I'm also a certified industrial hydraulics instructor for the local community college.
Is a good pump.  Had issues getting hose clamps tight enough on the suction line... During setup, an imperceptable  micro sized leak on the inlet, will stop the pump from working.  Field-tightening it probably lead to early fitting fracture and failure.

The plastic fitting's should be provided as Brass.  Mine broke in the heat of the moment.  We know Generac is providing brass fittings in the Extension Outlet Hoses, also purchasable at Menards.  I'm sure these are 3rd party fittings easily in Generac's inventory, nevertheless it reflects on Generac. $5 more cost won't matter when compared to driving all around town trying to find replacement fitting,... while my basement sump pump backs up when the power is out.

Awsome pump... plastic fitting broke 1st day.

Bought this pump 2 years ago and it ran well for the first 2 years. It killed a month ago and I haven't been able to get it started and have had no luck finding a Generac service small engine repair shop to work on it. Business's recommended by Generac in my area either no longer work on them or are out of business. One repair shop said he had tried for years to have Generac drop him from their recommended service centers list with no luck. Ran good when it was working and I'll keep trying to find someone to work on it to have it for a backup to a new pump I had to buy.

Ran good when it worked

It seems to be a nice pump but the 1" hose barb or the suction hose is undersized, it leaks, and you only suck air. It failed out of the box to pull any water. I then lined the barb of the hose connector with silicone caulk and and double clamped it. It worked like a charm, for a couple of weeks. It should only be a $2 part but Generac failed to provide one that worked. If you can't create a vacuum none of the other features are worth anything. I'm now searching the net for a better option for the suction end to make the product usable. Don't buy it without buying a good suction hose.

Nice Pump with a Fatal Flaw

So I bought this pump to run a hi banker for capturing gold, I've now owned two of these exact pumps and both of them right out of the box have something wrong with the fuel delivery, it runs fine then bogs down then runs fine then bogs down. I'm thinking it might be the jetting that they run factory in the carburetor I believe it's running lean

Be aware

It is just like a BIC lighter. When it stops working you just throw it away. Parts are almost impossible to find and they cost as much as the whole unit cost brand new.
Very poorly made, cheap parts. Save your money or spend more. This unknit is a waste of your time.

I bought this as a backup system to pump water out of my basement if heavy rains came. My area has water issues when we get more than 2" of rain + in a few hours.
The rain came, as anticipated, and I set-up the water pump according to the instruction manual.
Shortly after putting gas in the tank I started to smell gas fumes. They were quite strong. Very unusual.
Upon investigation, I saw fuel dripping from the carburetor bowl and air filter. When I felt around the lower part of the carburetor to see what the issue may be the entire bowl fell off in my hand spilling fuel everywhere.
By chance, there were no ignition sources nearby or the situation would have escalated in to a full blown emergency causing burns to myself and everything around.
