Was toying with a cheaper 24kw unit instead of the 30kw. The 30kw covered the whole house plus pool whereas the 24 needed to have certain loads taken off. Auto exercises and seems to work like a champ.

The location of the Auxiliary Shutdown switch makes it very easy to accidently turn the generator off.  A simple fix was to place a guard around the switch.

Locating the power wires for the MLG Module was a nightmare.  They were bundled with and behind another wiring harness next to the actual generator.  They should be placed next to the battery box where they are to be connected.

The recommended 5/8" mounting bolts will not fit through the holes in the frame.  I had to use 1/2" bolts.

I haven't had too actually use the generator yet. However, when the technician removed the utility power, the generator started and restored power in less than 10 seconds. We loaded it with two Heat pump units*, two electric water heaters, the oven, other appliances and normal lighting without any problem; and plenty of power to spare.

* I did have the emergency supplemental electric heat strips in my large heat pump changed to propane because they consume a very large amount of power.

This generator will do the job done in a normal size home

I live in TX where spring storms and sever winters can knock out power. On May 5th a lightning strike took out my power, in the past that would be a huge problem but not this time. Within a minute my Generac generator automatically kicked in and brought the power back on!

Having suffered through a multi-year problem with a competitor's product issues, I went searching for a reliable alternative.  I was very professionally guided in my search by TSE Power Solutions and chose a 48KVW diesel unit from Generac.  The planning and execution of the installation were exceptionally well handled and went as scheduled.  Start-up proceeded flawlessly as well and we are now set to go.  I am confident this will be a much better, long term solution that will fit our needs.

Off to a good start...

Although we haven't yet had a power outage to fully test this Generac 30kw, the initial assessment of the unit has been favorable. The setup by the approved service provider was expertly performed and all test of the unit were successfully completed. We are anticipating the coming hurricane season in the south east with better than usual expectations. We hope that when the time comes Generac will take care of us.

Very nice system

My Generac has already proved itself valuable and reliable to me. I am in a very rural area and my power is a little flaky at times. It has already come on at least 5 times that I am aware of and it has been a much appreciated convenience. The longest outage was about 7 hours and there was no issues during that time.

The product has a great appearance!

This generator has come to the rescue several times already since installation. One time for almost 72 hours. The auto transfer switch is the best part of the system. No going outside looking for cables and filling the fuel tank in the middle of the night.
  The only suggestion I have to make this unit the perfect system is to upgrade the manual to be a bit more clear as to how to reset alarms and weekly test run cycles so that a regular mechanically inclined person can perform these things in an easier, more time efficient manner

This unit does everything I hoped it would do

The unit is pretty, all bright and shiny, a very expensive yard ornament. It arrived and was installed by very courteous, dedicated, knowledgei
ble individuals, but when the test run began: 1) The unit would not start. A technician was called, and the installers departed. 2) The coolant was low. After being filled with coolant, the unit still would not run. The technician determined there was a bad #3 coil which had to be ordered. I am awaiting completion of all services and testing before I decide the value of my purchase.

It is difficult to write a review on a not-yet-functioning unit.
