As an electrical engineer, I've been familiar with Generac for years. Generac always provides a quality product at a reasonable price. I currently own a XP10000 generator and was looking for a smaller portable unit. This unit definitely lives up to it's reputation as being light weight, easy to start and well built. After unpacking, filling with oil and gas, it started on the second pull. First use was about 12 hours and it ran flawlessly. My only suggestion would be adding the Power Bar feature and a fuel gauge.

I purchased this portable for use with my ice house instead of my large 1998 Generac 5000 watt which was overkill though, "If you own it use it" thought process. Oil and gas were added for a quick test run prior to it's first fishing trip. Two pulls and this unit was off and running great. My personal experience is one of complete satisfaction especially when this unit ran for 8-1/2 hours on one tank of gas on economy setting and responded to load instantly when needed.
Quiet operation, efficient, and thus far very dependable. Generac, thanks for providing great power products!

A must have

I have been comparing portable generators for some time for our RV. We purchased this GP2200i, second owner, still strapped in unopened box for $300. Got home, unpacked, oiled and started after several pulls. Quiet as a mouse!! Started my 3/4 hp bench grinder no problem. I feel it will be less troublesome than models with all the electric lights (bells & whistles). It has more power than units costing 400 to 500 dollars more.

More power than Honda, half the price

Between hurricanes and ice storms, we have power outages about 4 times a year that last longer than 8 hours.

I bought this inverter for one reason: to power our freezer!! Does the job and even gives me a lamp or two when it is dark.

Does the job

I purchased a 2200 Suitcase Generac generator in August 2019. I am pleased with the product, the cost compared to other quality generators was excellent. The weight is perfect and I have already used it more than my bulky 5500 generator that was too heavy to lift. It has the power to run my camper and it powers up a small cabin with lights, fans, and small appliances. I would recommend this product.

This product is highly recommended.

So I've had my Honda 2000 for 9 years, run it every weekend and change the oil every month usually and no issues until now, carb dirty needs a cleaning. Picked up this Generac 2200 and have been running it every weekend for a month. I feel like it's a tiny bit quieter than the Honda, and it starts on the first pull every time even when it's below 32 degrees. And it really purrs, no missing or fast revving except right after start. Called Genrac people re extended warrantee and after market pieces and the customer service seems really solid. So now it's just a waiting game to see if the Generac has the same legs as the Honda, but so far, pretty nice and 1/2 the price of the Honda.

Honda vs. Generac

I'm very pleased with the purchase of this model Generac Inverter.  Really like the dual fuel operation and its low noise level. The other features that did NOT disappoint is its mobility to move around with the clever pull up handle, makes it very easy to maneuver as I'm a senior citizen. Also, pleased with having both the electric start and pull start option should the battery get weak/fail.
I purchased this to have an emergency backup for electric to our home in case we lose power during storms. Didn't want to spend $12K - 15K for a whole home generator system. This unit will run a full circuit in our home along with the gas furnace/blower.
 I'd give the 5 Stars if it weren't for the battery hookup experience when I first received this unit. When I hooked up the battery it wouldn't work, however pull start worked fine and unit ran fine. I read through the manual, and everything was hooked properly to the battery. I made 2 calls to the Generac 24/7 hotline/support and they were -0- help. Checked the battery, figured it was bad, but to my surprise it was good. Next, check the wiring leads to the battery from the unit. Heck, there was an inline bypass on both Positive & Negative battery leads. Took 5 seconds to switch both. Smart idea by Generac to keep battery from draining until units are sold to a customer. BUT, C'mon Generac, put this info in your User Manual or attach note to battery leads and make your hotline phone service people know!

Great portable Inverter/generator

Despite it saying it will power a single rv ac, NOPE‼️ At least not here in Moab Utah. Keeps throwing a engine code on the control panels. Unit stays running but doesn't generate any power. And it doesn't throw the units breakers. My 30yr old Makita 3500 watt powered it just fine, but, it was much louder and thought the quieter unit would do the trick...WRONG‼️

Not Quite Adequate for RV AC

I bought this on Friday for our tailgate on Saturday.  Put oil in it that came with it, filled it with ethanol free gas and never would start.  After 3 hours of trying to get it to start we just gave up.  Have never been more disappointed in purchasing a product as buying this portable generator.  Ruined the entire tailgate

Super disappointed

It says this generator will run a 15000 btu RV air conditioner.  But it kicks to overload every time. I have a small 28 ft pull camper. Buy a bigger one or a different brand. Now I have a generator I'll never use. For 800.00
