I have this brand of General tires on all three vehicles that I own (minivan, two station wagons) and began buying them after reviewing the Consumer Report survey on tires.  I also reviewed customer feedback on TireRack.com website on this brand.  The tires have excellent traction on dry and wet roads.  Decent traction on snowy road conditions.  They have a tire replacement warning sign etched into the tread that appears when the tread drops down to 2/32".  They have a 600 AB rating as noted on the sidewall.  They are priced below the more expensive Michelin and Pirelli tire brands.  The brand is a subsidiary of Continental tire.  The oldest tires by age on one of my station wagons is ten years old and driven about 55,000 miles and still has a decent amount of tread still left.  The tread warranty is 75,000, but your actual mileage achieved will depend on your driving profile.

this is my third set of the general ultimax tires. they have been a great tire for my vehicle, high mileage as well as good traction.

lasting tire

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really it is too early to tell.

I have only had the tires for a month but feel that the car ride is smoother and quieter. I selected General's since they were top-rated by a consumer publication for All Season passenger tires in my size. And by luck Walmart had these on sale for significantly less than other tire stores in the area. The install at the local Walmart was very smooth, appt started exactly on time and they were done earlier than promised. All good!

This particular “205 70r15” size RT45 tire I received says made in PORTUGAL😿 Even though some other sizes rt45 are made in USA. Comparing it to the US made 225 65 17 RT45 , notable differences include 44 psi max vs 51, and 1 less polyester ply in both tread and sidewall, seems flimsy, would expect more for the price. Even the treadwear number is 600 vs 700, which very likely means faster wear.

I'd probably buy something else had I known

it's okay if you just need a replacement.
