Built just as tough as the Gator Machete, the Junior is shorter and more packable. The two-sided blade has both a fine edge for hacking brush and vines and a rough cut saw edge for cutting branches, limbs and small trees. It’s a high-carbon steel shaft with a Gator grip handle. For back-country travel, when every bit of weight is accounted for, the Gator Jr. is the right machete.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machete was great to have for getting rid of some unwanted branches that I had in my front yard! It was easy to use and did a great job. It is made with high quality materials and should last us a long time. It is easy to transport with the nice case. It is surprisingly lighter than I thought it would be which I am very happy about. One of my sons took it to the hills and used it in some thick vegetation and said it was super handy. We are pleased with it and my boys all say it's a keeper!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this machete is perfect for cutting tree branches. the grip on the handle is perfect, it helps you get a perfect slice on the branch without leaving it very woody, i think its worth the buy it you have a lot of intrusive tree branches or bushes you wanna get rid of.

The case it comes with is very handy as well. Worked perfectly for cutting some branches off the trees! Would 100% recommend if you need one.

Solid Machete

I g for me as a female to use.  I do a ton of outdoor yardwork and tree trimming, cutting bushes etc and this is going to be perfect for that task.  It has a nice carrying case along with it and the handle grip feels excellent.  I’m very pleased with this machete

Clears brush with ease

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm really happy with the Gerber Gator Machete Jr. overall.  It's been great for all my outdoor adventures, from hiking and camping to even using it around the house for pruning palm tree boots. It's lightweight, easy to handle and has a solid grip that feels secure even after extended use. The machete also seems really well built and durable.

One feature I really appreciate is the included nylon sheath. It makes it super convenient and safe to carry on my belt or toss in the truck without worrying about the blade damaging other gear or equipment. The saw side works surprisingly well too, I was able to cut through branches, a few inches thick with no problem at all.

The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because the machete blade could definitely be sharper right out of the box. I'm planning to put a better edge on it myself, and I think once sharpened it'll perform even better. Overall, it's a versatile and dependable tool that I'd still highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gerber Gator Machete Junior is a decent size to carry and use and even though we don’t know the type of steel Gerber uses for this knife it is very sharp and precise. As you can see in the photos it had no problem slicing through with ease. Lightweight and easy to maneuver in tight spots. The saw is a nice to have but limits the machete in being able to baton a piece of wood. Other than that I think it’s a pretty good machete.  The sheath is pretty solid but just a protective stiff sheath. Not Kydex or anything of that nature. No assembly required.

The Gerber Gator Jr. packs a punch for the size!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's so convenient to have a sewing tool and a chopping tool all in one. It also comes with a sheet that you can attach to your belt loop. It was not heavy at all when using, and had a safety feature for my wrist of my hand, wouldn't slide forward. I was hoping that it would saw and chop more easily, as I had to put a lot of work into it. It
 was not as sharp as I thought it would be.

Saw and Chop in One

I got this machete because I have had one in the past and it was amazing but the quality of Gerber went down dramatically. Is now one of the worst knives I've ever had I bought it and was finally able to use it. The first time I use it to cut a small branch the handle broke in half by the screw.
