Exactly as described. Thick glass. The dinner plate is really large; I just eat from the smaller "salad" plate for my meals. I like to use colorful tablecloths, napkins, and sometimes placemats; these glass dishes are the perfect non-clash complement.

Beautiful. Modern. Sturdy. Square clear thick glass. GREAT PRICE. They look expensive, but are a bargain. They match anything, no matter how your table is themed these blend right in. Square is easy to stack in the dishwasher. So far they have survived the microwave and dishwasher w/o incidence.

Received my plates a little late, but that's okay. Upon sight I fell in love with them. They're so pretty and they're very heavy which I like. None were broken and they were packaged well. Haven't used them yet because I'm waiting to move into my apartment, but I'm sure I won't have any problems. I've heard how the crack in the microwave, but I just won't microwave them to avoid that problem. Satisfied customer!!

LOVE my new plates!

I just got the dishes so I don't know how they wear but I think they are great looking. I read the reviews about them coming in broken. I bought 2 sets and checked them over and neither set had even a nick in them. Very contemporary, good size, glass is very heavy, not thin and cheap. I am very pleased with the purchase and you just can't beat the price.

NICE DESIGN

I was looking around on the internet for a new set of dishes and somehow ended up at Walmart.Well I'm gad I did because they had the largest assortment at the best prices that I could find.Wasn't thinking at the time of square dishes but the more I looked at all the choices the more I liked the idea.Gotta tell ya I'm sick of Stoneware so I wanted to try glass.I saw these Mainstays by Libby,couldn't beat the price with a stick and got two sets.

The Pro's...The dishes were packed super neat with every piece perfectly protected with heavy cardboard and not one broken piece in the lot. The dishes themselves are really nice...they look sharp!About as heavy as Stoneware, the dishes are thick and sized just right .The dishes have a nice taper to them so gravies and sauces will stay in the dish,also gives the dishes that classy look.The bowls are sensibly sized for cereal or soup and again a nice taper and deep.They stack well in the cabinet and take up less space then round dishes,looks nice.If you had glass in your cabinet doors these would look sharp.Can't comment on durability yet cause I haven't had em that long but I'm sure handled with a little care will be no problem.I did look at the reviews before I bought these and saw some negative ones mostly about putting them in the microwave and dishwasher.When I got them the first place they went was the dishwasher they fit perfectly no problems with loading and set them so they weren't touching each other came out just fine.I haven't used them in the microwave yet,they are microwave safe although a lot of the reviews complain about breaking in the microwave.I'll take my chances if I did break a dish I'd just get another set and heat my leftovers in plastic or paper.At this price I'm not gonna worry about it.

The Con's...So far I don't see any,the only thing I might see as a con for some is there are little imperfections in each dish and bowl.When I say imperfections I mean a dull spot,a line,a distortion in the glass nothing to talk about.This is something you have to expect from glass dishes that don't cost very much so why cry about it.To me they look great and I'm happy with my purchase.If you like em get em trust me you won't have any complaints and they'll look sharp on your table.Walmart will get them to ya fast and safe...great deal.

Dynamite Dishes for The Money

The dishes are extremely heavy. Some people may love this, but it's a bit too heavy. I don't want them to break easily, but they're extremely heavy to handle.

Extremely Heavy

My wife wanted a new set of dishes to have when we have guests over. We opened the boxes (we bought 5 sets) and 3 of them had a broken bowl and one plate broke while washing it in the sink. In my opinion pay $5 more for the Anchor Hocking set that I saw in the store.

Nice set, but breaks easily

I bought the same style and brand to replace my old ones I'd bought 11yrs ago. The quality has gone down a lot. They're made in Mexico now. The glass has a green tinge on the edges, my old ones do not. I believe the quality of the glass is where that color is coming from, junk glass that chips and shatters with normal use. My old set has been dropped, microwaved, accidentally baked and despite all that plus 7  kids - there's still a few left while all the new pieces have broken already. I'd rather pay a few dollars more for better quality glass, if I can find them.

Not the same quality they were 11yrs ago

I loved these plates! However I was specifically looking for microwave safe and even though they say they are they broke into pieces after less than a minute in the microwave. They are very thick and just lovely especially for the price but I am returning them.:(

Pretty But Not Microwave Safe!

I got the sqare set. one of the bowls broke simply from being at the bottom of the short stack in the cupboard. another split in half when i was washing dishes. and another EXPLODED when my  husband put hot soup in it. DANGEROUS! Im beyond the return window but wanted to warn others to avoid these. They are a hazard.
