The Good Ideas rain wizard rain barrel can provide 50 gallons of pure, un-chlorinated water when municipalities declare periods of low water usage. During heavy rainfalls, a typical roof can produce hundreds of gallons of water. By saving that water, you can reduce your average water usage by up to 40%. With those kinds of savings, the rain wizard can pay for itself in just a few seasons.

The rain wizard features an attractive Faux oak barrel design so it naturally fits in with your landscape. And the wide variety of colors allows you to even further match your barrel to your home and yard without standing out. Its plastic screen mesh is newly designed to keep out debris while still being easy to remove for cleaning and maintenance and is gentle on skin. The included diverter is a simple two-piece plastic design that fits in-line with your existing 2x3-in downspout. A 6' vinyl tube then transports water straight to the barrel and also works as an overflow to send excess water back to the downspout. There's even an included "winter plug" that replaces the tube when you no longer need or use the barrel and it returns the downspout to regular operation.

A front-side overflow keeps water from flooding against your outside wall. The flat-back design is one of the most convenient features as it allows your barrel to sit right up against your home so you don't have to worry about purchasing excess downspout parts.

These barrels are tough. While most barrels will crack or become brittle in the winter, the rain wizard will stay strong. It is still recommended that you drain your barrels when temperatures approach the freezing point.

The barrel and diverter kit was simple to install. Works great and  filled the barrel very quickly.

Great water saving unit

Great barrel, but . . .  never could get a good flow from spigot.  Removed from barrel & realized the opening was very very small, which allowed very little water out, thereby not allowing enough pressure for the garden hose. Will have to purchase new spigot from hardware store to correct this problem

Great Barrel

We did not get the diverter that was advertised with the product. One that was sent wants use to cut into our downspout. Not something we wanted to do.  We would have bought just the barrel and bought the diverter we wanted somewhere else had we known this. We love the barrel though.

Not as advertised

I love the idea but there is not enough pressure to push water through a hose. I have to figure out a way to put it up on a stand so hopefully the gravity will let me use a hose to water my plants!

Advertised as 50 gallon. It is a 40 gallon. Spigot slowly discharges water.
