These are awesome! They are almost indestructable, which is great

For what I use these clips for, there isn't anything I have found that works better.  I have very long hair, down past my bottom.  I also have a 5-year-old, 2-year-old, and a 1-year-old and  I am not willing to cut my hair.  Every morning I braid my hair into three separate braids, then braid those into one big braid, and then twist it up into a bun by using two of these clips to secure the bun in place.  The braids help my hair not matte as much by my neck and I can still have my hair up in a bun and out of the way.  I use two of these clips to hold the bun I twisted up as hair ties no longer do the job.  I also like that my hair doesn't get caught in any metal.  

There is a slight downfall to these, after awhile the plastic circle (where metal is located on other clips) starts to get stretched (as I have thick hair) and they do come out when the clip isn't being used.  However, you can snap them back in easily enough and continue to use them the next time you want to.  I have learned to make sure I keep the pieces next to the clips so that I don't spend awhile relocated them from wherever I set them down at when I took my hair out.  

I have also used these clips to just pull my hair halfway back when I don't have time to do my usual hairstyle, but they do fall out that way throughout the day.  And because my hair is so long, I usually end up having a nightmare to brush later so I rarely use them like that.  I should note it is not because of the clips that I have a nightmare to brush but because of my hair.  I think the clips fall out when I use them like this because they are meant to be used with a lot of hair or at least a pony tail if you are only putting your hair half up.  

This is just what works for me and I am sure there are numerous ways to use these clips.  I sent my husband out to get more as I must have lost them at a pool shower but he came back with something else (somewhat smaller and with the metal) as he could not find these at the location I bought them at.  Needless to say, they don't do the job as well for me and I was willing to spend a fair amount of time searching for these through the online store.  I am buying more than one just because they work that well for me and I don't want to risk not getting these again should I misplace them again.

The clip doesn't open far enough. If you sort of jiggled it and scooped the hair up starting on one side and then the other, maybe it could work (and you'd be worried about breaking it) but that's not the kind of complication I'm looking for in a simple hair clip. The clips I prefer open up twice as wide and I can fit all my hair inside in one go.
