I plugged Chromecast into my smart TV, which is considered too old for Amazon Prime to continue to support, and voila...Amazon is mirrored on my TV  via my lap top.

I also use it in my livingroom on the big screen TV, which no longer supports Youtube and voila Youtube again via my laptop or smartphone! 

I originally got the chromecast for the free movies that Google Play sent me because I wanted to see them on the big screen and not my phone. That worked too. I have lightening speed internet so I am sure that helps for streaming movies and you do need to use Google chrome instead of internet explorer for it to all work. 

I am over 50 and not extremely technology savvy so I was very happy I could get all that I wanted without it being overly technical!!

Got rid of cable an I am not looking back. Bought two of these for my two upstairs TV's. Got the smallest subscription to Playstation vue that really has all the channels I watch. Love that my kids can also cast their iPads to the TV and watch youtube videos on a bigger screen instead of the iPad. Makes sharing a lot easier too.

Cut the cord!

I would have absolutely given this 5-stars, but the installation was a bit awkward. I had to call them for support. They talked me through an alternative method for installation, which I used on all the computers with success. Their support is exceptional!  They are real English-speaking people with great personalities and humorous.  My husband LOVES this product and continues to rave about it.

Fabulous Product--Need to Work on Installation

BEWARE! This device won't allow (as of 01/2017) streaming through mobile data, only WiFi - it doesn't matter what WiFi network your mobile is connected to, doesn't even have to be the same network as the device's, as long as it is a WiFi network and NOT mobile data; unless you own a 3rd device (ie. another mobile phone) you can employ as "bridge" between your mobile's hotspot and the Chromecast itself, if you live in a remote place with no stable "cable" internet connection, this device is NOT for you!

Won't allow direct mobile data connection.

This item was supposed to be a Google Chromecast, but instead, we received an "Any Cast" in a Google Chromecast copy-cat box. It's literally useless. Can't set it up to use as the QR code isn't even legit. Looked this item up on Amazon and it has many 1 star reviews. We definitely feel scammed. Will be returning to Walmart store tomorrow.

DO NOT BUY

This is not chrome cast - and it doesn't work. You need a subscription to a casting app and for the price I wanted the real deal. Neither decide never did work, even with a subscription - it was just a complete waste of money and a scam because it's not a Google product it's “any cast”.

Do not buy! This is false advertising !

The product I received is not what the product shows on the Walmart page. It's not a Chromecast, it does not have an operating system. The only function it has is wireless display. The only similarity shared with the original Chromecast is its shape.

Don't buy it!!!

Very bad item, not working, the documentation is not even for that kind of Chromecast.  Looks like a copy, not a real Chromecast, not even a serial number on it.

Don't buy this item

Don't purchase if you want to be able to use this like a regular Chromecast. This will let you mirror your screen in the TV not cast to it.

Pain to cast with

I’ve had Chromecast for a few years and it’s not one of them. Very disappointed this is another technology and I am unable to use it with my cell phone. Plus, I get paid only 30 percent.
