[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far it works great! Plugged it in overnight, was charged by morning. Came with everything I need to install it and took me maybe 10 minutes with the video instructions. The camera seems clear and I was able to hear the snow removal guys when they came out. It's only been a week but the peace of mind knowing when I have package or someone's coming by is super nice to have!

Worth it For Peace of Mind

influenster.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tested the Google Nest Doorbell (3rd Gen, wired) and it's definitely a step up in clarity and smart features. The 2K HDR video is sharp and wide enough to catch everything happening at my doorstep, and I love that the AI-powered alerts can tell me if it's a person, package, or even a pet.

Installation was straightforward since it's wired, but that also means there's no battery option—so flexibility is limited if you don't already have wiring in place. The two-way audio is clear, and I've had smooth conversations with delivery drivers without any lag.

One thing to note: many of the advanced features (like extended video history and smarter AI summaries) require a Google Home subscription, which feels like a downside if you want the full experience.

Overall, this doorbell is perfect for anyone already in the Google Home ecosystem who values crisp video and reliable alerts. If you prefer a battery-powered option or don't want to pay for a subscription, you might want to explore alternatives.

Amazing Quality!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great outdoor camera! The video quality is super clear, even at night, and the motion alerts are always accurate. Setup took just a few minutes and it's been reliable in all weather. Definitely gives me peace of mind knowing my home is always monitored.

Great sense of security!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a premium wired doorbell offering sharp 2K HDR video, intelligent detection features, and seamless integration with Google Home.
It provides exceptionally clear video both day and night, with a wide 166 degree field of view that captures visitors and packages alike. Advanced motion detection accurately identifies people, vehicles, and deliveries, reducing unnecessary alerts. With constant wired power, performance remains reliable without the hassle of battery replacements, and setup is straightforward when existing wiring is compatible.
Using the Google Home app, users can watch live feeds, review recorded events, and connect effortlessly with other Nest and Chromecast devices. Its clean, modern design enhances any entryway, delivering a polished blend of security, convenience, and style.

Best One in the line

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Google Nest Doorbell (Wired, 3rd Generation) is one of those rare smart home products that genuinely makes everyday life easier, safer, and more convenient, and after spending several weeks with it installed on my home, I can confidently say it deserves a full five-star rating. This doorbell combines premium hardware, excellent video quality, fast notifications, and impressively smart detection features in a way that feels truly polished. If you're looking for a doorbell camera that performs consistently and integrates smoothly into a modern home, this model stands out from the rest.
From the moment you unbox the Nest Doorbell, you can tell it's designed thoughtfully. The device feels solid and high-quality, with a modern matte finish available in neutral colors that blend well with most home exteriors. It's slim without looking fragile, and it manages to look modern without being flashy or drawing unnecessary attention. The mounting plate and included hardware are easy to handle, and the faceplates are replaceable if you ever want to switch up the look. Everything about the build quality gives the impression that it's meant to last through years of weather, use, and updates.
The video quality is where this doorbell really shines. The 2K HDR resolution is a massive improvement over many older or budget doorbells that still rely on 720p or basic 1080p. With the Nest Doorbell (Wired, 3rd Gen), you get crisp detail, accurate colors, and, most importantly, footage you can actually analyze if something happens near your porch. Faces appear clear, packages are easy to identify, and details like clothing colors or license plates are far more visible than what you get from standard-resolution competitors. HDR is also a game changer if your doorway has tricky lighting, such as direct sunlight, heavy shade, or a mixture of both. In real-world use, this means you won't get those completely blown-out or totally shadowed silhouettes that make it hard to tell who is actually at your door. The camera adjusts exposure quickly and naturally, giving you consistently usable video.
The field of view is also smartly designed. Instead of an ultra-wide, fisheye-style lens that warps everything at the edges, this doorbell uses a tall, well-balanced image frame that captures a full head-to-toe view of visitors while still showing a wide enough area around them. This tall framing is especially practical for package monitoring, because you can clearly see anything left at your doorstep without the camera needing an awkward downward tilt. Even when someone stands close to the door, their entire body and face remain visible.
Installation is much easier than people often expect with a wired doorbell. If you already have an existing wired doorbell, most of the work is simply swapping out the old one for the new one. The Nest Doorbell only requires a standard transformer within the typical 16–24 VAC range, and many homes already have this. The instructions in the Google Home app walk you through every step with clear visuals, and the mounting process itself is quick. If your transformer is older or not compatible, you may need to upgrade it or use Google's indoor power adapter, but overall the setup feels straightforward for anyone with basic DIY comfort. It's also a big plus that once the doorbell is wired in, you never have to worry about recharging a battery.
After installation, the performance is consistently impressive. Notifications arrive quickly, usually just a second or two after motion starts or someone presses the doorbell. On both iPhone and Android devices, the alerts were fast and reliable, and streaming the live feed opened without lag. Two-way audio is clearer than most competing models: voices sound natural, and there's minimal delay, which makes quick conversations with delivery drivers or visitors feel smooth. The speaker on the doorbell itself is loud enough for people to hear you even in windy or noisy conditions.
The smart detection features are some of the best you'll find in a consumer doorbell camera. The Nest Doorbell recognizes people, packages, animals, and vehicles, and the differences in alerts make the notifications much more meaningful. Instead of every movement triggering the same alarm, you get specific notifications like “Person detected” or “Package delivered,” which helps you decide quickly if you need to check the live view. With a Nest Aware subscription, you unlock even more powerful features like familiar face detection and extended video history. While the subscription is optional, it adds a layer of intelligence that makes the system feel truly personalized. The familiar face tagging, for instance, can let you know when a known friend or family member arrives, making notifications feel less generic and more genuinely useful.
Low-light and night performance are also excellent. The infrared night vision produces clear black-and-white footage without the graininess or blur you see in cheaper systems. Even without color night mode, the clarity is strong enough that you can identify faces and see what someone is carrying. The doorbell transitions from daylight to night mode smoothly and quickly, and it adjusts exposure effectively in situations where porch lights or headlights might otherwise confuse the camera.
The Google Home app, which now largely replaces the older Nest app, has improved significantly. It is intuitive, visually clean, and quick to navigate. Video clips load smoothly, the timeline playback is responsive, and setting up activity zones is simple. These zones help prevent unnecessary alerts by letting you define which areas the camera should pay attention to. If your home faces a sidewalk, street, or busy path, this feature is incredibly helpful. The doorbell also works seamlessly with other Google smart home devices, allowing routines like turning on porch lights when motion is detected or announcing visitors through Nest speakers.
Reliability has been excellent. The doorbell stays connected, handles cold and hot temperatures without issue, and doesn't suffer from the battery-related glitches or charging limitations that wireless models sometimes deal with in extreme weather. The wired connection means constant power and steady video without drops in quality.
If I had to point out drawbacks, they're relatively minor. Some of the best features require a paid Nest Aware subscription, which adds ongoing cost, though the base free features still give you event-based recordings and smart detection. Another consideration is that if your home doesn't have the right doorbell transformer, installation might require an upgrade or professional help. And while the night vision is excellent in clarity, it's limited to black and white, not color. Still, none of these drawbacks significantly reduce the value of the device based on performance, reliability, and overall user experience.
Overall, the Google Nest Doorbell (Wired, 3rd Gen) is a standout choice if you want a high-quality, dependable, and smart front-door security device. It combines impressive video clarity, modern design, fast and meaningful notifications, accurate AI-powered detection, and seamless smart home integration. Everything about it feels refined. For homeowners who prefer the reliability of a wired connection and want a doorbell that genuinely enhances home security without constant maintenance or headaches, this model is absolutely worth the investment. Five stars without hesitation.

Awesome product!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this doorbell. This actually isn't my first Nest doorbell (I purchased the 3rd gen battery-powered one prior to this!), so I was extremely happy to get this one. The battery-powered one, in my experience, dies really quickly. Perhaps it's because I live on a busier road, but I found that the battery would be depleted within a week. The wired version got rid of this issue for me, which has been a major relief. It is a bit harder to install, which can be frustrating, but it is absolutely worth it for me. The Nest app is easy to use and I found that the camera and mic quality are pretty good. I think this is a fantastic video doorbell and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for one.

Much better than the chargeable version

Google LLC

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was easy to install. Upgraded from our Blink Dorbell. Has better video quality and sleeker look. Does require a subscription for storage but this was anticipated since that seems to be the norm. Overall pleased with it and glad we made the change. Will start adding to our Google nest network now.

Easy to Install great quality video

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't messed around with the app too much but it seems pretty straight forward. Not interested in setting up voice recognition for a doorbell. The clarity of the camera is about the same maybe slightly better than our other home cameras. We have no had any issues with it connecting to our WiFi so far. One star taken away though because during set up I could not get anything to work or connect from my google account but when my husband tried it from his account it worked just fine.

Hiccup with set up but otherwise fine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This doorbell camera seems to be built very well and seems solid in design and durability. I like that this works with Google Home and connects to my phone. The camera quality is good and it works well in detecting motion.

Quality doorbell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this product! It's so user friendly and the quality is amazing! Battery life is great and it doesn't drain fast. It's amazing how it can detect people and products through the camera. I definitely recommend it if you want high quality camera and not on a budget.

Great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nest Doorbell sound like a great feature for my house. I was really excited to install it and got my husband to help me.
What a nightmare! The installation is horrible, there's no manual only YouTube video with a tutorial and the freaking part on top simply doesn't fit properly (reason why I had to use a hook to hold the camera). Now it is installed, but my chime box won't stop going off. I do not recommend it at all especially if you have an older house. Don't get the wired version! It will be a nightmare! The camera is the only good thing. But I don't even know if I can keep this or if my chime box will explode at this point (and yes, it is supposed to be compatible with it)

The most painful thing to install
