I guess he only con was that I had to add a c wire adapter but once I got it rolling I love the fact that I could turn my shops heater on and off remotely and it integrates with Google nest

When one of our thermostats went out, I had planned on replacing it with a similar one. My 15 year old son convinced me to not only replace that one with a Google Nest smart thermostat, but to replace our other thermostat with one as well.
When these arrived, my son had researched how to install them. While my husband simply supervised, my 15 year old completely removed the old thermostats and installed the new ones. They are working well and we are pleased with them.

Easy installation; efficient functioning

Keeps my home feeling more comfortable by running the fan longer to ensure cold air is properly distributed. I prefer the white frosted look to the stainless steel and black colouring of the more expensive Nest and its a bunch cheaper. Best part is that the Nest doesn't make a noise when switching cooling on/off like my previous thermostat did.

Great thermostat

The installation was fairly easy and it seems to be working as advertised! We like the large numbers that you know what you have set the thermostat to. Then you will see a smaller number above it, that one tells you the room's temperature. To change the temperature you just turn the easy to turn outer large rim. Right to make it warmer and left for cooler.

My thermostat is down stairs, bedroom upstairs. I can control it from my bed. This is very good when your disabled.!!

Easy to install-YouTube videos can help also, comes with a mounting plate to cover wall hole if you had a huge thermostat like mine.

Cool!

Surprisingly easy to install, both on the wall and on my phone.  I'm 75 and not a techie, but all went well.  Now I control settings on my phone, and the temperature in my house is always just right.

Easy install and temp control.

Unit's WiFi capability died within 2 weeks of installation. Very disappointed. Because it's tied into the hvac system, it's extremely difficult to replace unless we swap back the old thermostat unit, which is a major pain. Since this was a gift to a non-technical family member in another state, it's a major inconvenience and effectively negated hours of travel and effort to help improve their quality of life.

I purchased this Aug. 20, Installed, setup with my account and it worked flawlessly. Then, the return window ended Sept. 26. Sept 28th, I noticed it wouldn't turn on the display when I would press it. I'd press it 5-10 times and then eventually it would turn on.  I also noticed that recently when set to 75 during the day, it would remain at 80 all day, even on cool overcast days. Now, It lost Wifi Connection and it won't find any Wifi Connections. Even when there are plenty of connections available. I have a everything setup correctly with my Internet. I've tried all the troubleshooting procedures. At this point, I'm convinced this is a defective device or there was a pushed update to it, the day after the return policy expired and it basically bricked the wifi controller. $150 bucks down the drain.  (I have extensive background in IT and have setup multiple smart homes). This is a defective device, it seems a common issue all over the internet when searched about this nest device.

Buyer Beware.

I installed it and the unit doesn't work. I have other nest thermostats that work fine. This was currently repackaged and sold as new.
