I guess he only con was that I had to add a c wire adapter but once I got it rolling I love the fact that I could turn my shops heater on and off remotely and it integrates with Google nest

Great for all houses

Keeps my home feeling more comfortable by running the fan longer to ensure cold air is properly distributed. I prefer the white frosted look to the stainless steel and black colouring of the more expensive Nest and its a bunch cheaper. Best part is that the Nest doesn't make a noise when switching cooling on/off like my previous thermostat did.

Great thermostat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very difficult to set up if you do not have a C-wire existing in the furnace/HVAC system.  Also, I couldn't set the thermostat on an exactly the heat degree  I wanted it to be on. The thermostat would keep pre-setting to 68 degrees when I wanted it to be on 60. Not easy at all to use or set up.

NEST difficulties

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tried to use these to replace two older Nest thermostats because Nest no longer supports the internet functionality for them. Installed both according to the instructions. Neither would even power up. Tried Nest support on their website but even the chat function was worthless. Don't buy any Nest products. They will not live up to even ordinary standards of service and decency.

Nest equals awful support and help

Unit's WiFi capability died within 2 weeks of installation. Very disappointed. Because it's tied into the hvac system, it's extremely difficult to replace unless we swap back the old thermostat unit, which is a major pain. Since this was a gift to a non-technical family member in another state, it's a major inconvenience and effectively negated hours of travel and effort to help improve their quality of life.

Neither Would connect to the internet (adjacent), one would not hold a charge longer than four hours - who ships a product with a defective battery? It was a complete hassle trying to get them to work. Replaced them with Honeywell backlit, programmable thermostats that worked immediately with no problems.

I purchased this Aug. 20, Installed, setup with my account and it worked flawlessly. Then, the return window ended Sept. 26. Sept 28th, I noticed it wouldn't turn on the display when I would press it. I'd press it 5-10 times and then eventually it would turn on.  I also noticed that recently when set to 75 during the day, it would remain at 80 all day, even on cool overcast days. Now, It lost Wifi Connection and it won't find any Wifi Connections. Even when there are plenty of connections available. I have a everything setup correctly with my Internet. I've tried all the troubleshooting procedures. At this point, I'm convinced this is a defective device or there was a pushed update to it, the day after the return policy expired and it basically bricked the wifi controller. $150 bucks down the drain.  (I have extensive background in IT and have setup multiple smart homes). This is a defective device, it seems a common issue all over the internet when searched about this nest device.

Buyer Beware.
