[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was easy to install.  You do need to charge up the thermostat before you can set it up, which did take a while. Recommend charging it via usb cable before installing it. Once it's installed it stays charged from your thermostat wiring. Was easy to set up. Packaged very well also.

Great product inexpensive

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a thermostat not being produced any longer. After it was shipped I had read that it was not supported by nest and thought I would be returning it.  The article indicated it could not be added to either the google home app or the nest app and that it would not receive software updates.  The one I purchased installed easily was added to the Nest app ( could not add to the home app).  I saw it receive a sofware update.  Nest.com indicated it was warranted for over a year.  Overall it looks good is easy to adjust works well and was a bargain.

Good solid product

I installed it and the unit doesn't work. I have other nest thermostats that work fine. This was currently repackaged and sold as new.

Didn't work

Unit's WiFi capability died within 2 weeks of installation. Very disappointed. Because it's tied into the hvac system, it's extremely difficult to replace unless we swap back the old thermostat unit, which is a major pain. Since this was a gift to a non-technical family member in another state, it's a major inconvenience and effectively negated hours of travel and effort to help improve their quality of life.

The description indicates that this model will work f you have a second stage of either heating (W2) or cooling (Y2). However, upon unboxing, I found that it DOES NOT have slots for both W2 or Y2. 

For most people, this will work. However, if you have a higher-end system with multiple zones, this will not despite the misleading description stating that it will. Super irritated at what is essentially dishonesty. 

Pull your current T stat and make sure you do not have (W2) or (Y2) wires before buying.

DO NOT BUY THESE IF YOU HAVE 2 STAGE COOLING/HEAT

I purchased this Aug. 20, Installed, setup with my account and it worked flawlessly. Then, the return window ended Sept. 26. Sept 28th, I noticed it wouldn't turn on the display when I would press it. I'd press it 5-10 times and then eventually it would turn on.  I also noticed that recently when set to 75 during the day, it would remain at 80 all day, even on cool overcast days. Now, It lost Wifi Connection and it won't find any Wifi Connections. Even when there are plenty of connections available. I have a everything setup correctly with my Internet. I've tried all the troubleshooting procedures. At this point, I'm convinced this is a defective device or there was a pushed update to it, the day after the return policy expired and it basically bricked the wifi controller. $150 bucks down the drain.  (I have extensive background in IT and have setup multiple smart homes). This is a defective device, it seems a common issue all over the internet when searched about this nest device.

Buyer Beware.
