Product it great. I like it. The newer app - no so much. Sad to find out the hard way the required upgrade now has the Google Home app which is under development and IS NOT THERE. The Nest app was SO MUCH BETTER. Thermostat gets thumbs up.  Google Home app - do better. Please. And thank you.

Walmart hd the best price on the Nest 4th Gen by a long shot.  We frequently shop at Walmart, so I knew I could trust them to send me the correct item and on time.  The nest device is working perfectly, although I am still struggling to get it on my phone.  Most likely, that's my fault.  I need to re-read the instructions and try again.

Nest Learning Thermostat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say - I’ve never been excited about a thermostat before. But truly, this Google Nest 4th Generation Learning Thermostat is fantastic! Aside from the fact that it’s obviously beautiful aesthetically, it also has some great energy-saving features. 

First of all, you should definitely check to make sure your system is compatible. There is an easy-to-follow video from Nest which fully explains how to figure that out, and it doesn’t take long. 

Next you’ll want to consider installation. For a novice like me it should take less than an hour. The installation video was super helpful, even though I don’t consider myself “handy”. 

After getting it installed, the set up process is straightforward. I’m also impressed with the app, which is easy to use. The app will come in handy for times when I’m already in bed and want to adjust the temperature, for example.

I did some research by reading reviews on this product, and unfortunately I see some misleading reviews. It seems that some people are saying that the brightness can’t be adjusted, but it can! I literally Googled “how to adjust brightness Google Nest Learning Thermostat”, and detailed instructions popped up. Basically you can have the display brightness set manually or automatically. If you select manual brightness then you can make it a lot brighter. I personally prefer the Auto setting because it’s plenty bright enough for us. Anyway, I really think the reviews for this product are negatively skewed simply because people didn’t properly research it. 

This thermostat also has some pretty cool features which will help me save money on my monthly bill, like Smart Schedule. Plus, my utility company offers rebates for this thermostat due to the energy-saving features. You might be eligible too, so be sure to check with your utility company. This thermostat even has a System Health Monitor, so you’ll be alerted if your HVAC isn’t performing normally.

In summary, I love this thermostat! It’s beautiful and it has really great features. It’s easy to install and is easy to use. Check it out!

Brightness CAN be adjusted, please read. Fantastic thermostat!

bought this and when I got it and installed it, there was a pin code set on it already. after hours with nest support, they came to the realization that I received a Demo Version. so I returned it and bought it from somewhere else, same day (since I had  already dismantled my old thermostat).

The product itself is great. but the version I got was ridiculous. wasted so much time troubleshooting in the end.

Would not recommend.  Doesn’t work like a normal thermostat.  Does not heat to my desired temperature.  I bought a brand new home and purchased this thermostat and replaced a Honeywell.  The Honeywell worked fine and I should have kept it.
