An exemplary router that finally solves the problem of dead wifi spots in the home. Very affordable compared to the competition. Extremely robust, no downtime and almost never needs a reboot.

If you have any slow wifi area in your home the router   2 mesh point took care of my problems and even of it the slowest of the two Google meat wifi solution it can handle my highly connected home (50  devices) and can stream 4k with no issues with my 150 mb/s internet provider

This is the fourth Google wi-fi hub unit I've got on my home network. It really does a great job extending the network throughout my 3,500 square foot house. I'm able to stream 4K content even in the basement using a hub that is several hundred feet away from the main one. Highly recommend it!

Great wi-fi hub

Handles all our devices and smart home effortlessly. Nice UI, easy to understand and navigate. 70 connected smart home devices (bulbs, switches, speakers, displays, security and comfort) and hasn't dropped a connection. Strong reliable wifi throughout our home.

Easy setup, consistent, strong wifi

First bought Google mesh 3-pack, then needed to expand, so purchased a Google Nest mesh 3-pack to add to it. Set the Google Nest Router as the main router and the other 2 Google Nest and the 3 Google mesh devices as access points. Works well most of the time, but I sometimes find one or more nodes go offline for no explicable reason, later returning online on its own. I sometimes need to restart the whole mesh network to regain full functionality. Can somebody at Google Support help me to make my mesh network more robust?

Mostly happy with it

We have the firs generation Google Wifi throughout our home....works great, fast coverage throughout our home (3 floors, around 3000 sqr ft)Works pretty well outside too. Full disclosure, I've 'wired' each of my access points directly to our 1Gb home ethernet network for solid connections/performance....it's just the way I roll.   But what I really appreciate is that if I have a new area that needs better coverage, I just plug in a new Google Wifi Gen 1 access point and ....boom, area covered. No ethernet bridging, no additional third-party access point to configure.......it just works.And we love that we that Google Wifi schedules kicks our kids off the internet at 9:30 each evening!! (evil parental laugh...muahahahaha!)We actually get to spend some quality time with our kids :)Since we bought these devices, we've liked them....but we wish there was an integrated Google puck integrated into each one.The generation 2 Google Wifi has this....but it removes the additional ..

Living with Google Wifi

It works great if you're in one spot by the transfer to different hubs as you're walking around is slow and cuts your internet out while it's transferring. I have another set at a different home that doesn't seem to do this so could just be a bad set.

I got the original Google Wifi right two years ago in 2019 and when first setup, I was blown away by the reliability of the connections and had great internet throughout my three-level home.  However, two years on, it appears that a recent update (Sept 2021) has started causing trouble with the remote points now showing weak connections to the primary point.  This has caused noticeable poor streaming quality and buffering.  It was so bad one day that the entire mesh network stopped working in any reliable fashion - there was either no connection or slow with lots of buffering.  Troubleshooting found no solutions for the weak connection (i.e. from restarting all wifi points to moving the units closer together to the point where they were in the same room).  Eventually, the next day things returned back to normal with weak connections and poor connections but simply without drops.  It appears to be an issue with the current version of the software that I hope somehow will get fixed.

Great when I first got them but recent problems

So far my experience is not good with Google WiFi. This model has a very low coverage area and reduces WiFi speeds at every point area. Will go for another model. Not worth the money.

Low Coverage and Speed Issues

Worked great for a year, now needs a factory reset once a month to be stable, otherwise it drops signal at random.  Was annoying at first? But now with remote working it is absolutely frustrating. Before a week with important calls we will often do a pre-emptive reset as it is embarrassing when on a business call in this day and age and wifi freezes.
