Value For Money

Internet Speed

Signal Strength

Can be very fast, but often slow and unreliable.

Takes around 10 minutes with google home app assistance.

Provides reliable connectivity for multiple devices.

Provides connection throughout the residence.

An exemplary router that finally solves the problem of dead wifi spots in the home. Very affordable compared to the competition. Extremely robust, no downtime and almost never needs a reboot.

exemplary router

I bought a three pack of the Google Wifi at the Google store. It arrived 3 days later. Setup was quick and easy. It is easy to manage but I am used to configuring other routers where there is a lot more tweaking available. In spite of this it is doing a great job. Maybe simplicity is a good thing.

Good Wifi all over.

Google LLC

Excellent product! Better than expected. Easy to set up and access for rental properties. Definitely a 5 star product and I highly recommend this for people with short term rentals or people who require several access points for large properties. Love the option to create private password off site and email to my guests. Amazing!!! Best purchase I've made in a long time.

Google wifi

Very happy with Google WiFi. Never given me a problem. I use Shaw as my ISP, and in the beginning I would have to bridge the modem Shaw provided. Now with the new modem and I upgraded my speed I no longer have to bridge my modem which is curious but it works fantastic. I have the main router and 4 Wi-Fi points, and receive excellent coverage. Two of my points are wired directly to the router through a switch the other two are wireless and get excellent connection.

Google WiFi

We have the firs generation Google Wifi throughout our home....works great, fast coverage throughout our home (3 floors, around 3000 sqr ft)Works pretty well outside too. Full disclosure, I've 'wired' each of my access points directly to our 1Gb home ethernet network for solid connections/performance....it's just the way I roll. But what I really appreciate is that if I have a new area that needs better coverage, I just plug in a new Google Wifi Gen 1 access point and ....boom, area covered. No ethernet bridging, no additional third-party access point to configure.......it just works. And we love that we that Google Wifi schedules kicks our kids off the internet at 9:30 each evening!! (evil parental laugh...muahahahaha!)We actually get to spend some quality time with our kids :)Since we bought these devices, we've liked them....but we wish there was an integrated Google puck integrated into each one.The generation 2 Google Wifi has this....but it removes the additional ..

Living with Google Wifi

First bought Google mesh 3-pack, then needed to expand, so purchased a Google Nest mesh 3-pack to add to it. Set the Google Nest Router as the main router and the other 2 Google Nest and the 3 Google mesh devices as access points. Works well most of the time, but I sometimes find one or more nodes go offline for no explicable reason, later returning online on its own. I sometimes need to restart the whole mesh network to regain full functionality. Can somebody at Google Support help me to make my mesh network more robust?

Mostly happy with it

It works great if you're in one spot by the transfer to different hubs as you're walking around is slow and cuts your internet out while it's transferring. I have another set at a different home that doesn't seem to do this so could just be a bad set.

Slow transfer between hubs

Once setup it works. Setup wasn't as easy as I expected (not finding the device in home app) and not as configurable (WiFi setup hidden in home app not reachable from device itself). Also disappointed mesh works only when wired serially not in parallel.

It works

I personally have issues with my network about once a day. My continuous ping to 8.8.8.8 shows networking issues.Resetting the whole network is a nightmare. The setup of each DEVICE or NODE and it relying on Google Home to use the IOS Wifi Networking service to identify the WiFi node is painfully slow and would be soul crushing for Senior Citizens. Could definitely use about 3 more iterations on usability / ease of use. It needs the equivalent improvement of moving from Nokia to Smart Phones. For a company with Billions to Trillions in profit, you CAN do better,... you know... if you wanted to. If you are interested, reach out to me, I can consult for you on this if you want. I am only critical because I know you can do better, much better.

wifi not bad, getting there

So far my experience is not good with Google WiFi. This model has a very low coverage area and reduces WiFi speeds at every point area. Will go for another model. Not worth the money.

Low Coverage and Speed Issues

Google Wifi - Router front-facing compact cylindrical mesh router with matte white finish and small LED ring, a Google Nest device providing whole-home coverage and Network Assist for automatic channel management, automatic security updates, simple setup in the Google Home app, and parental controls to pause Wi‑Fi; often used as a temporary portable mesh node for events or travel setups.
