Excellent fry cutter

I bought this item because because of my fibromyalgia pains in the hands, cutting fries had become painful! Now we can eat home fries again! The whole family appreciates :) I do not regret my purchase!

This is a great gadget! I love that it suctions to the counter so it doesn't move around. The blades are sharp and make quick work of the potatoes. Just make sure to read the instructions on which way to place the potatoes in the chute to allow for easier cutting.

Love making my own French fries.
Wish it was a little longer cutter. You have to trim/ select potatoes to fit. Like having 2 size cutters and suction cups to hold it steady. Sometimes it is hard to push handle down and having it secured to counter helps. Cuts fries in less than half the time it takes to do it with a knife.

Handy to have gadget

I actually owned one before and the only reason I bought the second one is the low price. The first one did its job well as does this one when it comes to cutting the fries however, the potato resting area seems a little small and most potatoes of decent size will get jammed if not cut down. My original cutter's handle broke after about 3 months because my wife decided to try and force a stuck potato through.

Cheap enough to purchase again!

Cut the potato without too much effort, the regular and julian cut size are beautiful. The device is in place. The only catch is that I almost always have to cut a piece of the potato, because the opening of the fried cut is not long enough, a minimum of 5cm longer would be better to be able to not cut the majority of potatoes to make fries.

Holds well in place

Works great until the blade breaks which was on the 6th potato using the regular blade. I tried putting the broken blade back on but no luck. Not good when your canning and depending on the cutter to work. I followed the directions and had cut down the size of the potato so that isn't the problem.

Not to happy

I had one for years and it finally broke so I had to replace it. I just received my new fry cutter and used it tonight for some home made fries. I am going to contact Starfrit because it broke. Total garbage item now. Plastic is so cheaper. Cutters bent when try to slice through the potato. Could not even use it. Garbage

Not what it use to be

It's smaller than it appears in the pictures. I had another model that I could slice most potatoes whole or with one cut but this one I had to half or cube every one and then one of the cut wires breaks on the first use even cutting smaller pieces which requires less force than my original one. There's also a space on the bottom that would fill with potato that couldn't exit causing it to jam up and not push the potatoes thru. My original lasted about 20 years, this one for a single meal.

I used this twice , the 3rd time the blade broke .

Very disappointing...
