Distinctions - this one folds so I can carry it in my backpack as part of my geocaching kit. Sometimes you have to poke your camera in a small dark crag and take a shot to see what's there. If the cache is there, many times you have to stick your hand in to pull it out. Even with gloves that's a bit of a thrill! A reacher like this is perfect for those times. Or when you're literally out on a limb and the cache is just a bit further... Great for fishing stuff from behind the couch at home too! I couldn't really tell how it extended by the pics on the site. It has a substantial sliding bar that you can screw to lock down securely. Adding a bit of electrician's tape under the top receiving element is a good enough friction-fit to avoid the screw. I could also drill through the screw hole and put a pin in there, but haven't needed to.

I really like this..especially the part where it folds for easy storage..but mine doesnt stay locked very well when its open..but it still works.
.thats the only  reason i did not give it 5 stars

Good tool to have handy

I travel in work and this is a great tool I can take along in my luggage. It is most helpful in many ways as an aid in getting dressed.

Folding Grabber

I was so disappointed in the overall quality of this grabber that I sent it back.  I've had 4 other grabbers over the years and though they cost less, they were of better quality.  The trigger on this item is hard to reach.  The joints are weak and they tended to flex too much when I tried to pick up something as light as shirt off the floor.  I felt the pinchers were poorly designed.

Not impressed so sent it back

I've never used this item. I did try it out (seemed to work fine) when it first arrived then folded it up and got it out a couple months later to use out in the yard picking up sticks. Somehow sitting unused something broke inside and now there's no tension in the gripper. If there's a way to fix please advise how and I'll add on a star or two. Thanks!

This thing isn't very sturdy. It folds up when I don't want it to. Then it doesn't fold when I do want it to. Good for very light tasks. But pulling wet laundry out of the washer is tough for this tool

Good grip but folds unexpectedly

I am not happy with this grabbers folding device .
It does not hold grabber open .
It constantly folds without even touching it .
It is quite annoying when you try to pick something up and folds in half .
I don't know if my particular grabber is damaged or if it is that way all of them .
It is also quite heavy .

Honest and disappointing grabber

Cannot recommend this item inasmuch it malfunctioned right out of the box. The lock which is supposed to keep the grabber open and extended– didn't lock, so the grabber would fold on itself when attempting to use it. And the grabber "claw" didn't grab because their seemed to be a disconnect between the handle and the claw.

Dysfunctional grabber

No longer works after 7 months
When squeezing handle, grabber no longer
Closes to pic k things up rendering it
Useless after 7months Money down the drain.

Not made to last.
