Provides a snug fit without sacrificing space.

Can be easy to adjust for a snug fit, but may be tough to tighten or loosen for some users.

Designed to fit in smaller cars without obstructing other seats.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great seat! We upgraded from our Graco infant car seat because our little one was getting too tall for the old seat. It was extremely easy to install in our car and feels very secure even though our little one has a lot more room. It was straightforward to set the headrest to the appropriate position. I definitely wanted another Graco seat after how much we loved our infant car seat, and so far the new convertible seat does not disappoint!

Roomy and Easily Adjustable

GracoBaby.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this after realizing it costs more to rent one with a car on a 2 week trip, so might as well have a travel one on hand. Pleased with it's size, ease of installation and operation, and reasonable price

Travel size but not flimsy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this car seat to fit into my mother's smaller sedan. Its really safe and does not weigh too much. The ideal seat for the space we had and it feels very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone who needs a safe ride for the little one but also comfortable for the front passenger/driver.

Effective and Easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have owned and liked several car seats over the years. When it was time to buy a new one, I was looking specifically for one that was lightweight, FAA-certified, and would likely fit cold for a long time. This car seat fit the bill! I was actually surprised how light it is, in comparison to our other Graco convertible seats. Our kid seems very comfortable, too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't see this carseat mentioned very much online, but it's been great for us so far! It's pretty lightweight, fits well in our sedan, and my son seems comfortable. I'm looking forward to using it next time we travel, and hopefully it will work for us for many years!

Stop Sleeping on the Contender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this car seat for travel and it's been amazing! Light weight, easy to install, and my toddler likes it more than his regular car seat. I just bought a second one for my newborn. It feels sturdy, harness is easy to use, and forward and rear facing install has clear instruction for recline position.

Great for travel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We needed a seat quick for daycare. This one came quickly at a great price and seems to be working very well so far. It is a little subjective where you should adjust the sizing to but I suppose it will vary baby to baby.

Great in a Pinch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this as a second car seat to use for travel- airplane and rental cars. There was some beginner learning curve as with all car seats, but overall it was easy to slide the seatbelt through the bottom space on the airplane or in the car. The biggest issue was with the shoulder straps, they kept sliding off my son's shoulder's and when he fell asleep his head would hang forward a lot. it did not look comfortable. if you are looking for a lightweight car seat to have on hand, this is a great option. But it did not feel as safe/secure as other car seats.

Works for travel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased as a second seat for travel. Fit well on airplane seat without issue, easy to buckle/tighten/unbuckle. 4/5 because the clips for installing to anchors are really frustrating to use and get tightened appropriately, much more challenging than our usual seat (extend-2-fit). We have a tall kid we want to keep rear-facing as long as possible so would still purchase again.

Overall good seat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this car seat a lot. My only hesitation is that i should have spent the extra money to by one of the swivel models, as getting the baby in and out of the car is easier with that. Other than that....this seat is very good.

Contender Slim Convertable Car Seat

Ordered this online in Feb 2025 and received a seat that was manufactured in Jan 2023, which means the seat is over 2 years old with less than 5 years to use. The box also came damaged. We tried to contact Walmart customer service but the chat got dropped after waiting for over 40 minutes, very frustrating process.

Seat was over 2 years old when received

Graco Contender 65 Convertible Car Seat holds rear-facing infants 2.2–16 kg (5–35 lb) and forward-facing toddlers 10–30 kg (22–65 lb). Features Simply Safe Adjust™ one-hand 8-position headrest, 5-point harness, UAS with level indicator, EPS foam and cup holder.
